"Hello, my snicker doodles, today we will be discussing the topic of friendship", my language arts teacher says. "I want you to discuss with the people at your table what friendship is, starting now", she said. I sat at the quietest table and even though I was usually very quiet during classes, I was the 'loudest' one at my table.

"Friendship is the state of being friends", I said. That was most likely the dictionary definition (in short form). "Friendship is when you can count on someone and you know they'll always have your back", the boy next to me said. "Friendship can also be love for someone but not in a romantic way", the girl who sat diagonally from me said.

"That's really thinking outside of the box, awesome!", I said with exclamation. Friendship definitely involved some form of caring and love in a way. It just wasn't the love that happens in romance movies or fairy tales.

"Friendship happens when you've known a person for a while and you know them very well", the boy who sat across from me said. That was very true, you don't just see someone and think oh me and them will be friends forever. You need time to see their true personality.

Some people hide who they really are with no intentions of revealing their true selves. A real friend will show their true personality and only that. Friendship was all of these things and many more.
