"Leah I really don't think you should be doing this," Alex says from the top of the ladder as he hands me down a large cardboard box, I blow the dust from the sides and it floats around the air; making me cough.
"Chill, I'm only three months gone it won't be that bad," I say in between my coughs, my eyes watering.
My coughing fit slowly fades and I put the box on the ground.
Today Alex and I are at mom and dad's house, we are desperate to see the baby items they have from when Olly, Fay and Ben were children. Unfortunately this means us having to go through everything in the attic and taking all the items out due to the baby equipment being right at the back.
Alex and I haven't told anyone about the pregnancy yet, we want to wait till I am a bit further gone and we want to think of an exciting way to announce it when we do so I just told mom and dad that I want to look through the things in the attic from when I was younger.
"That's the last of them!" Alex says, handing me the final box and climbing back down the ladder. "We can sit in my room and go through this stuff," I wink at Alex as he laughs, "damn that line sounds very familiar."

"Mom, don't worry, we're just friends, we're just going to go up to my room and study for this last exam." I say to mom as she sits in the kitchen, looking at me with a smile on her face, "go on Leah, I trust you."
I walk back to Alex who's waiting at the bottom of the staircase, "Um...is there somewhere I can put my bag? Um...It's – um – don't worry if there's not. It's just a bit – uh – heavy." Alex says to me, scratching the back of his neck. I laugh shyly, "yeah course, you can plonk it on the landing."
We walk up the stairs, Alex a few steps behind me. As we reach the room of my door we both drop our bags on the floor and take out our maths books, "Ugh I hate algebra," Alex says as I groan, "I hate trigonometry!" We both stand at my bedroom door as Alex looks into my eyes, making my face feel hot, "We can sit in my room and go through this stuff," I say, opening my door.
*Present moment*
"I still hate algebra," Alex laughs as I shake my head at him, sliding one of the cardboard boxes into my bedroom with my feet as he does the same.
I sit down on my pink swivel chair as I let Alex pull the rest of the boxes into my room; he closes the door and sits on the floor in between the boxes.
"I would have never thought that one day my fiancé would be going through all this stuff that I had thrown in here," I say softly to Alex, sitting myself next to him as he puts his arm around me, letting me cuddle up to him while we both open the boxes.
Alex and I come across many strange things from my childhood, something's I remember and a lot of things I have absolutely no explanation for.
"Oh. My. God." I whisper softly to myself as I see a small red notebook at the bottom of one of the boxes, I immediately crawl across the room and sit in front of the box, reaching my arm out for the book and pulling it towards me, holding it to my chest.
