I opened my mouth to speak, but before i could say anything this man raises his hand and shushes me. He then motions for me to follow him and I quietly do to an even farther part of the store. " W-who are you? Why are you here in Colbert?" I nervously ask. "None of that matters now, all you need to know now is that I'm here to give you this. Do not let Dunyhiri get these from you. You may not know what it is or what it can do but when the times right it will come in handy." he replied and walked off. I was about to ask who Dunyhiri was but when I turned around he was no where in sight I quickly went to the front door and he had completely vanished.
I went to the back of the store and got a water bottle and paid for that and my candy and went to sit on the logs in front of the store to wait for Kristy. I wanted to look in the bag but I didn't know what or who Dunyhiri was so I decided it would be best if I waited till I got home to look so for the time being i shoved the little brown leather pouch in my backpack and ate my candy bar.
It waited about thirty minutes before Kristy got there and as soon as she did I hopped in and she drove me home. I wanted to tell her what happened because she was the only one that knew about my dreams, but I decided that it would be best to wait till we were safe inside my locked room. It wasn't a far drive from the general store to my house but today it felt extremely long. Once we got to my house we went inside and Kristy took our backpacks to my room while I got us some snacks and drinks.
When I got to my room Kristy was getting her books and notebooks ready. "Hey before we start I need to talk to you about something. Do you remember this morning when I asked if you saw that guy?" I asked while locking the door. "Ya you asked if I saw someone and only Michael was there. Why whats up?" she replied. "Well I saw a guy there in front of Michael, and I kinda brushed him off and when i was at the general store he appeared in front of me. He even gave me something." I replied. "No way! What did he give you?" she questioned. "I'm not sure yet. He told me to keep them safe and I knew the safest place would be in my room." I answered taking the little brown leather bag out of the small compartment of my backpack.
Kristy's eyes instantly lit up and grew three times the size they usually are. "What is that?" she questioned. "I'm not sure yet. Lets have a look inside." I replied. As I was slowly opening the bag and a weird musky smell came out of the bag i got the feeling that maybe it wasn't the best idea to show other people, but I have known Kristy for 8 years now and she has never told anyone about my dreams, or the chase, or when I see things. I decided that I was going to show her anyways because I cant keep a secret like that for myself. We scooted closer on the floor together and I poured the contents of the bag onto the floor in between us. All that came out was a piece of cloth that was rolled up. We both looked at each other and before I could open it my mom came knocking at the door. I hurriedly put the paper in the bag and told Kristy to sit on it. "Kathleen I'm going to the store and to run a couple errands. I need you to watch Jackson while I'm out. Hes sleeping right now." she told me as I was opening the door. "No problem I'll keep a close eye on him." I replied as she handed me the baby monitor.
As soon as she walked away I hurriedly closed the door and told Kristy to get the bag out. She handed me the bad and I began opening it again. I pulled out the paper and started to unroll it. "Wait! What if we aren't meant to see it?" Kristy asked looking worried. "All I was told was to keep it away from someone or something. I think its completely fine if I look at what I'm trying to keep safe." I replied trying to keep a calm look on my face because in reality I was pretty scared of what could possibly be on a piece of paper.
I begin unrolling it again hoping for no more interruptions and to get to see what it is I'm going to have to try and keep safe. Once I got the paper unrolled all that was drawn on it was a symbol. The symbol looked like a moon with what looks to be an eye in the middle and designs going through the moon shape. "What do you think it means? I've never seen anything like that before. Have you?" Kristy begins to question. "Ya actually I have. I can't remember where or what I was looking at but I have seen it before." I told her still staring at the symbol. "Well hey, lets not worry about it to much okay? Lets do our homework and we can look it up later when we are done cause I don't know about you but I have A LOT to do." Kristy says and I decide to listen to her. After about an hour of homework and tending to my brother, Kristy decided that she needed to go home.
