It was a cold night. A night where even the fastest animals and humans sat still, listening to the silence. A night where desperate souls longed for warmth. A night where anything, anything could happen, good, or bad. In a cold and damp alley, puddles sat still, oblivious to the darkness.

Suddenly, a dark boot crashed into the puddle. Water flew, surprised by the crash. The boot picked up speed as more boots crashed in behind it.

The owner of the boot skidded to a halt as she plunged the boot into another puddle. She was trapped. Her ears perked up at the sound of yelling and her heart sped. She looked around and spotted a pole, glinting in the darkness.

She lunged, using the momentum to swing herself onto the gutter of building. She teetered on the edge of the of the gutter. Arrows and spears were thrown at her. She tucked and rolled, lurching into a run. She ran across the buildings, jumping when she needed too. The chase was becoming more persistent as she ran faster. She jumped, ducked, rolled, ran, tucked, lurched, and lunged every which way. As she came to the edge of a building, her eyes flew wide and she halted. There was a jump. An impossible jump.

"You won't escape this time," sneered the man behind her. A gash lined his forehead, blood seeping into his mouth. He was panting, eyes wild like a rabid dog. His cronies spread out, making a half-circle around her. She stepped to the edge, angling herself. She had to do this. She could do this. Just a bit further...

She clucked her tongue and they froze, tensing. Just a few hours early, she was in a brawl for food with the leader. She had expected them to run after her, so she ran. Sure enough, moments later, they ran after her.

Her eyes flickered with excitement. She leaned back and flipped, landing on the ground. Her brown hair was plastered against her blood-red face. She raced away from them, bolting into a nearby alley. She ducked, arrows and spears and ran a bit faster. A big building lay in front of her. A tavern! She ran faster, bolting into a tavern. She ducked her face and saw a group of people, that interested her. They were an ordinary group. A mandalorian, a green Twi'leck, a man, a lasoat, and a boy. The boy was slouched, looking angry. The Twi'leck was trying to talk to him, but clearly the anger was directed to her.

The man looked up and noticed the girl. She gestured to a small corner and he nodded. She rounded the corner and disecretly met in the corner.

"What do you want?" he inquired.

"A ride to the nearest planet, no questions asked," the girl replied. He studied her and nodded.

"We can drop you off at Lothal, since we're heading for it anyway," he suggested. She thought for a moment and nodded.

"Deal," she said and the man lead her to the table. As he rounded up his crew, she looked around. No sign of him. Good.

"Hello?" she turned quickly. Everyone was leaving, except for the boy. She looked at the boy, quizzically. He rolled his eyes.

"We're leaving," he said and walked off. She followed him to the hanger. The Twi'leck was in the ship and the lasoat and the mandalorian were rounding up Imperial crates. A diamond-shaped freighter sat in the middle and she smiled knowing she made the right choice-

"There!" she whirled, pulling out her blaster out and shot. She lunged into the ship and they took off. Luckily, only the boy saw them. She sheathed her blaster. She glared at the boy.

"No questions," she growled.

"Who are you?" he asked and she frowned.

"I-I hardly think that's necessary," she scowled. The boy shook his head.

"I'm Ezra," he offered. "What's your name?" at the sound of 'name', tears stung the girl's eyes. She looked at the floor and hugged herself.

"I-I don't know," she whispered and Ezra stared at her. "Yeah, go ahead! Make a joke!" she lashed out and pushed away, finding a spot sit down. Ezra came into the room and looked at her. They didn't speak.

"What would you like to be called?" he asked and she looked at him, startled.

"I-I don't know" she admitted. "I never thought about it," He stops for a moment.

"How 'bout Dev?" he suggested, smiling. "Dev Morgan?" she smirked.

"I like Morgan, I don;t know about 'Dev'" she said, and they laughed.

"Morgan it is?" he asked and she thought for a moment and then smiled.

"Morgan it is." she said.
