Chapter 2
I was surprised when I wasn't immediately thrown into a wall. He shook me violently, and yet I still managed to cling on to his neck. Maybe some of the vampire strength worked. As far as I know from Black Coat, my body was rejecting it and refused to let it work. Maybe he was wrong this one time.
Suddenly, Grimm stopped shaking. I had no idea what he was doing until suddenly, he grabbed my hair and pulled me in front of him.
"I will be back for you, mongrel!" he snarled. And with that, he took off... and forgot to close the door... and his keys which were on the ground.
So elated that fate has looked my way and given me a chance, I picked up the keys and started happily unlocking doors, staring with the one right across from me.
I managed to open the door and looked for Tamani. The next moment in my life seemed to go in slow motion. Literally, I saw everything in a slow manner.
One minute I was looking around the cell, the next I saw a shadow running towards me at inhuman speed. Except, it wasn't. I could see every individual step they took, every pump of their arms, yet I somehow knew not even the fastest car on Earth could go this fast. And when they got right up next to me I ducked down, grabbing their ankle in the process, and managed to flip them.
Suddenly I could see the blonde hair, blue eyed boy's face. He was around 20, I noticed. Ohmygosh! Oh. My. Gosh. Oh my Gosh. I just basically threw the person I was trying to help onto the floor. And it looked like it hurt by the grimace that was set in his face.
"Oh my Gosh! Are you okay? I'm sooo sorry!" it all came out in a rush so fast it sounded like one sentence. I decided to slow down. "Are you okay?"
He groaned while attempting to sit up. "Peachy." He grumbled out.
"I'm so sorry!"
He chuckled. "You said that once already. And its okay, I heal quickly. See?" he said, standing up way too quickly for someone who had just been thrown onto a stone floor.
I backed away, scared because only something one-hundred percent inhuman could heal that fast and feel no pain. I ended up stumbling over my feet, but Tamani caught me in time.
"Whoa, whoa there! I'm not going to eat you, I am Black Coats prodigy, remember? He made me like this."
"Oh yeah, sorry. I forgot for a second there." I paused, realizing something. "You call him Black Coat, too?"
"I overheard you and that Dadious kid calling him that one day."
"I didn't realize you could hear us. I never heard anyone outside the door. And his name is Damion, and he isn't a kid." For some reason it sounded like he was trying to downgrade Damion, and that made me angry.
"I don't care what his name is, and you probably just never tried listening to sounds outside your door."
Suddenly, I heard a man's voice call out my name.
"Jacque!"
"Damion! I'm in here!"
I heard Tamani huff behind me and I shot him an accusing glare. He just looked at me innocently and mouthed 'What?' as though he had no idea that I knew he was purposely expressing his dislike for Damion this whole time.
Damion suddenly ran into the cell and closed the door, leaving it open enough so that it doesn't self lock.
I was about to ask him what he is doing but he clamps a hand down over my mouth as if knowing I was about to talk.
"Be quiet and I will let go of your mouth, got it?" he says, and I nod. He looks down at me one more time and then let go of me.
