Yuu POV

I came out of the nightmare yelling, and sitting upright. I stared at the wall, my body covered on sweat. If my little siblings came in or my father, this would look pretty bad.

I get out of bed quickly and shower, putting on my school uniform. I place my contacts in and set off, saying goodbye after baking them a few waffles for breakfast.

I almost always make breakfast, but my father has been taking an effort in making it more than before, which makes me happy to see he's taking to heart that he needs to help his children too.

I was excited for after school today, because Yoshiki and Shinozaki both told me to come over and read a bunch of ghost stories. I still love this type of stuff, even after the event.

Plus, it's my last year of high school, and I've been thinking of becoming a journalist like Shinozaki, so she's been giving me pointers on where to start. She herself is a freelance journalist, sometimes writes a novel or two, which she hasn't had the guys to give to a publisher, seeing that their all ghost stories she made up, but their really good.

I make it to first period no problem, and go about my day normally. Well, as normal as it can be. There was no paranormal club anymore, and Rina and me saw each other every day at lunch, on the roof. She'd always make me try her experiment lunch she tried to make for me.

At first they tasted horrible, but their slowly improving. Thank god too, I don't think my stomach could handle it. But secretly, I miss the days when we'd argue, and Amon would have to stop the both of us from doing anything.

Those were fun times. Our comedy act turned into a romance, which I loved. But if I could trade my relationship with her back to being friends for Amon and even Nori and Mei to come back, then I'd take it in a heartbeat.

That makes me feel guilty sometimes.

Rina has been a huge help with this. I know I'm not the only one suffering from what happened, but... I had more to lose and was the reason everyone died. I'm just a giant fuck up.

After school I head straight for Shinozaki's house, saying goodbye to my younger classmates that have tooken a liking to me (who are mostly women). The sun beats down on me, these days it was too hot. I fan myself off as I walk, wearing pants in this weather sucked, I wish they'd let you wear some shorts of something. At least they let you wear the summer uniform, short sleeves~!

I make it to the apartment complex and walk up the stairs, and ring the doorbell. The outside of the apartment was a mess with papers, mostly envelopes from the stuffed and not cleaned mail box. They never get their mail or something? There was also garbage bags everywhere.

We're they doing some cleaning? I think this as the door opens just a hair at first, then opens fully once Yoshiki gets a full view of me. "Ah, he's here, Ayumi." He called back and beckoned me in, closing the door behind me.

Like every time I came here, it never changed from being a journalist heaven, newspapers everywhere and writing materials, computers and research on subjects that I didn't even know about. It sure was a mess.

Shinozaki was sitting at the table with a big smile on her face, she was looking down at one of her pc's, probably reading someone's else's, or her blog. I walk in and sit opposite of her, while Yoshiki walks over to Shinozaki and snaps in front of her face, making her jump.

"Hey, Yuu is here, pay attention." He said with a nagging voice then turned and went to make some tea. Shinozaki sighed and closed her computer.

"What were you looking at?" I asked, intrigued by what she was so transfixed on. Usually when that happens she ended up writing about it.

Shinozaki grins at me bringing it up. "Some paranormal stuff that some people were sharing theories together! And they referenced my work!" She said with a giggle.

"Oh~... so get any new books I can borrow?" I asked. She had let me borrow some books last time I came here, which all of them were really good reads. I pull the two books I had borrowed last time from my bag, and set them on the table.

She took the books and put them back in her shelf. "Actually, yes I did! I got some new mystery paranormal books yesterday that I've been dying to tell you about!" She sounded excited.

This was how it was between me and her, we like the rant and discuss books and paranormal stuff. Rina had come with us once, and it got even more heated since she's interested in the stuff too, but we ended up staying too late and she got in trouble with her parents.

"Here, this one is the better of the two, so I suggest reading it last." Shinozaki said, as she grabbed two books from the shelf, then placed them down in front of me. I nod and collect the books, putting them neatly into my bag.

"By the way, what's with all the letters and such outside in your mail? Not cleaning it out?" I asked, it had been bothering me for awhile.

Yoshiki comes in before Shinozaki can say anything and touches on the subject. "She won't clean them up because their job entitlements." He said while giving a glare at Shinozaki.

She balled up quickly. But I touched more into the subject.

"Job entitlements?" I asked.

"Yeah. Believe it or not, Ayumi is pretty well known around for her paranormal and ghost analogies and writings. Many different companies want her to come work with them." He explained, placing the tray with three cups of tea on the table, the tea was cold, for a hot day like today.

I grab my cup and take a sip. This hits the spot on a day like today! I smile as I drink then place it back down. "Why not take a job then? Your a freelancer right now, right? Won't it pat more to work with a company?" I asked.

Shinozaki groaned and balled up more. "Shut up Yoshiki! Now see what you've done! I don't want to join any of them because they don't want me to write about the things I want to write about!" She declared.

I guess that would make sense, if you have passion in something it's hard to let it go for something close to it. Plus, I've read some of her works, and their brilliant. Every sentence had you glued to the subject, if your a paranormal lover, then you'd love her works.

"I suppose that's how the cookie crumbles." I mumbled, looking down at my tea. Yoshiki and Shinozaki both nag at each other and head into the kitchen. I watch them go, but stand and look at the shelves again.

I browse through some, then come to a shelf that was familiar. I slowly take a deep breath and move some books aside, seeing the one book concealed behind the rest.

I slowly reach back and take ahold of it, the hard cover smooth against my fingers. I pull it out and look down at it, something resonated off of it that just made you want to open it and read. I look back at the kitchen door, then back at the book.

It wouldn't hurt to...?

I slowly and silently slip the book into my bag, and sit down where I used to be as the others come in. For the rest of the night we talk about different subjects, and Yoshiki adds funny comments in between.

I just hope I'm making the right decision here.
