Chapter 4
And the shoots began
It was Saturday. Only 1 day left until the shoots for the clip starts and I was pretty exited.
In the morning I got the script about the video clip.
It was about a girl and a boy, who used to be together when whey were younger. But when he saw her with another boy, he though she cheated on him and his heart was broken. She tried to explain him, but he didn’t want to listen. They broke up. But after years they realized that they couldn’t live the without the other one. They started looking for each other, but their paths always passed. They finally found each other on their favorite place – a pavilion in the park. When the girl saw the boy she ran to him and jump in his hug. They kissed and promised they will forever be together.
It was such a beautiful love story, but wait, wait, wait, wait… Wow, wow, wow, wow! I had to kiss Conor?! But… But… But… I wasn’t ready for this! No matter it was just a video clip and I had to play a role. It was a kiss with Conor Maynard!
On Monday I woke up at 6 AM. Right at 8 I heard a car klaxon on the street in front of home. I grabbed my purse and ran as fast out of the house that I faced right in Conor, waiting in front of my door.
“Oh! I-I am sorry Conor!” I stuttered.
“It’s okay and calm down a bit.” He laughed.
“I just don’t want to be late on the first day of my new job.” I said and laughed as well.
“You saw the script?” Conor asked.
“Yeah. It’s… It’s pretty… good!” I stuttered again. I just was so confused about that kiss.
After a couple of minutes we arrived on the video set. The first part of the clip would be set in the park, where Conor and I, in the roles of the girl and the boy, would play how they enjoyed their time together when they were younger. I’ve had no idea how these make-up artists were going to made one 24 years old girl looking like 16, but it was their problem, not mine.
The first thing which Conor did when we arrived was to introduce me to the director of the video clip. His name was Rohan Blair-Mangat. The same director of Conor’s first clip of Can’t Say No.
“So this is the famous Jessica I’m listening about since a week…” he started when he saw me. I looked a bit confused, because I had no idea who was the person talking about me, but Josh clear the things out.
“This boy over here can’t stop talking about you.” He said, smiled at Conor, who blushed a bit.
“Okay guys! Let’s stop talking and start moving.” Rohan’s tone changed completely. It wasn’t sounded friendly any more. “Go to the dressing room guys and changed. Conor it’s your responsibility to meet Jessy with the make-up artists and stylists and show her the place. Now go, go, go!”
Conor grabbed my hand and we ran to one of the trailers. He met me with Jane - one of the make-up artists and Lucy - one of the stylists and we started working. After an hour they have done with everything.
I got out of the trailer and looked around. It was total bustle. Everybody was running and got ready for the first scene. Conor appeared unexpectedly from somewhere, grabbed my hand and lead me in the centre of a place, surrounded of video cameras.
“So guys! The first scene is how you spend your free time together, in the park, under one tree, smiling and laughing and blah, blah, blah.” Rohan rolled his eyes. We laughed and he continued. “You know what to do and don’t forget to look like in love with each other, ok?”
I and Conor nodded. It wasn’t that hard to play a role where I’m in love with him.
We sat under the tree, he was behind me and I was sat back on him. Then Rohan shouted:
“Ready! Playback! And action!”
For first time I heard the song of the clip. I melted when I heard Conor’s voice and the fact I was in his hug made me melted even more.
I turned my head to him and fondled his face with my hand. He smiled and kissed me on the cheek. I felt his hands wrapped around me even more, but then we heard:
“Stop!”
It finished? But I didn’t want it to finish!
“Guys you’re just amazing! I don’t know how you do it, but almost never the scene can receives from the first time. But you did it! It’s awesome!”
Conor and I smiled, but it looked like no one of us was happy, because the scene finished.
The second scene and the last one for the day was the one where the boy saw the girl with the other guy and they have a row. The other guy was model as well. His name was Josh Simon. We didn’t have so much time to get to know each other, but he seemed like a nice guy.
The place of the scene was a club near the park. When we arrived it was full of people, who were extras. A woman, in the middle of the crowd, explained them what they had to do.
The scene was as follows:
I and Josh were sitting on the bar, drinking and laughing, when Conor came and saw us. I saw him and followed him out of the club, where he yelled at me and the row started.
Maybe this was the hardest scene for me. I don’t know why. It was hard to fight with Conor even it wasn’t real.
After the shoots Conor sent me to home. We both were pretty tired and I told him it wasn’t imperative to do that, but he insisted.
“You did a great job today!” he said with a smile.
“Thank you.” I smiled back. “I really didn’t expect I gonna deal with this from the first time.”
“Well, you did it and it was perfect.” Conor said. “So goodnight.”
“Goodnight Conor.” I smiled and walked in the house.
