Chapter 1: Meeting the Girl

~Hunter's POV ~

After receiving the Blood transfusion and signing the contract from the blood minister then awakening in Iosefka's Clinic sickroom on a table, I looked around to see an unlit lantern and my weapon nearby, my hunter's axe . Getting off the table I walked over to the axe and reached down to grab it, there was a faint groan nearby, unable to see due to the darkness I cautiously went closer, it was a girl with (h/c) hair and dressed in (f/c) attire. How odd, I didn't see her when entering Iosefka's Clinic, where could she have come from?

"Are you alright miss?"

Her eyes flutter open, our eyes met, my blue eyes with her (e/c) eyes. She flinched and backed up to the wall, holding herself, looking around frantically.

"W-Where am I? W-Who are you?"

Her voice was very soothing despite showing a bit of fear.

"Please don't be afraid miss. I am not here to harm you."

I tilt my head slightly. This girl is new to Yharnam, she could be a hunter as well, though she does not have a weapon and doesn't seem to remember how she got here. Considering that it is the "night of the hunt" Yharnam is a dangerous place for someone like her. I held out my hand towards her.

"You are in Yharnam, miss. This isn't the place for you to be in at a time like this. What's your name?"

"M-My name is (y/n), what's yours?"

"Please call me Hunter."

(y/n) grabbed my hand and I helped her up. Walking over to my axe and picked it up, then lit the lamp, with more light in the room I looked over to (y/n). Her (s/c) skin and her gentle features, quite beautiful really. I've also never seen attire like hers either. She looked at me with much curiosity.

"So....tell me Hunter...What do you know of Yharnam and what are you doing here?"

"The city of Yharnam is controlled by the Healing Church. Their technique of Blood Ministration has caused people to turn into beasts and other outworldly beings. So I must diminish their spreading and hunt down others if need be, for it is my role as a hunter."

"I see....."

"My apologizes Miss (y/n) I did not expect to meet someone here who isn't infected, and I am not quite sure where I can take you to safety, so please let me escort you to a safe haven until we find one, I do not trust this area to be safe."

"Oh...um...yes. Thank you, that's very kind of you Hunter..."

"Of course.... I would offer you a weapon but sadly my axe is the only weapon I have, but I will make sure that I'll keep you out of harms way, even if it cost me a few scratches."

"O-ok."

"There is a beast in the other room, stay here until the area is cleared."

(y/n) nodded, I pulled out my axe and slowly walked towards the beast that was devouring a man. With a good distance between us, I readied myself with a powerful double swing, the beast turned around and was ready to attack me, with a quick swing of my axe, it slashed the beast, staggering it, then with another swing, killing it. I walked back to (y/n) who was waiting patiently.

'Let's go Miss (y/n), and stay close to me, I wouldn't want you to get hurt."

"Alright."

We got out of the sickroom, the sunset colored the sky with blends of red, orange and yellow. The building were gothic-like and magnificent. I opened the gate that leads to the Central Yharnam, looking back at (y/n) and she smiled warmly, I smiled in return. A lady like (y/n), so gentle and kind...... My top priority here is to take her to a safe place.
