Leena snickered, creeping up on the bed while Josh was asleep. It was 6 in the morning, but Leena had gotten a call earlier about a job opening. She knew how much Josh had wanted a job, so this could be his chance. It was at a pizza place, and he would work there from 12 AM to 6, watching the place as a nightguard. Without a moment's hesitation, she pulled the blankets off Josh, startling the blonde neko awake. He yelled in fright, his wings unfolding and nearly hitting her in the face. She ducked in time, the wings just barely whizzing past her ear tips.
"Be careful!" She said with a giggle. Josh glared at her, growling a little.
"YOU WOKE ME UP!" He growled. Leena jumped onto the bed, pinning him down playfully. Josh's tail thrashed as he tried to get away, but Leena held him firmly.
"But for a good reason. I found you a job!" Leena said happily, hugging him. Josh rolled his eyes, snorting and reluctantly folding his wings around her in an embrace. Leena winked at him, kissing him on the forehead before slipping out from under his wings and running out of the room. "You're shirtless, by the way!" Leena called as she disappeared through the door. Josh yelped, covering his naked torso and blushing. He frantically reached for his shirt, which was usually on the chair beside his bed. But it wasn't there.
"Leena? Do you have my shirt?" Josh called.
"Nope!" Leena said from downstairs. "But I do have some food." Upon hearing that, Josh leaps out of his bed and nearly flew down the stairs. But he remembered flying in the house was a bad idea. Too late, he had already jumped into the air. He kept his wings folded, but tumbled down the stairs, yelping in pain. He landed at the bottom with a thud. Leena rushed over to him, crouching down to examine him with worry filled brown eyes. "Are you ok?" She asked worriedly. Josh nodded, fluttering his wings. But as he moved them, he heard a snap, and the neko roared in pain, making Leena reel back in fright. "Josh?!" Her voice was terrified now. Josh pawed at his left wing, whimpering in pain.
"I think I broke it.." The blonde boy whimpered. Leena moved him into the kitchen, laying him flat on his stomach.
"Stretch both your wings."
"But it hurts-"
"Do you wanna see if it's broken or not?"
"Yea, but-"
"I'll be gentle.." Leena reassured him. Josh sighed, trusting his girlfriend and spreading his right wing first. It extended with ease, while his left wing was having difficulties. Leena put her hands on it, making Josh's ears lower. He growled in warning, and Leena soothed him with a quick kiss on one ear. Her hands ran slowly down his wing, making Josh tremble in fear that she might accidentally hurt him. She soon found where he had broken a bone, but it was actually more than one bone. She poked it lightly, looking at Josh to see if her guess was correct. Josh's whine told her it was, so she went down into the bathroom to get some wrapping material. Josh hurriedly folded his wings, being gentle with his left wing though. He stood up and glanced at the kitchen counter. There were 2 plates of eggs and bacon. He grabbed one, eating all of it with his hands and making a small mess on the floor. He did the same with the second plate. Josh didn't see Leena enter, as he was too busy stuffing his face.
"Really?" Leena folded her arms, putting on a mock look of disapproval. Josh jumped, the plate flying from his grip. He accidentally flung it towards her, but she caught it with ease, setting it down on the table. "You little pig!" She teased. Josh snickered, rolling his eyes.
"So.. what was this job you wanted to tell me about?" He asked once he had cleaned off his face and whiskers. Leena gestured for him to sit down, so he did. Leena sat next to him, her eyes lighting up.
"So, I got a phone call from a place called Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, and they asked if I wanted a job. I said no, but I told them you wanted a job. So now they want to interview you today!" As she finished, she clapped her hands together happily. Josh's ears lowered, feeling his senses begin to tingle. His whiskers twitched, but he put on a fake happy smile and looked up at her.
"Oh, thank you so much, Leena!" He smiles, standing up and pulling her from her chair, holding her in a warm embrace. Leena blushes, hugging him back. Josh adds my right wing into the hug, wrapping it around them both. "By the way, you gonna eat that?" The neko joked, gesturing to the empty plate on the counter. She swatted him playfully and shoved him back.
"You brat!" She tackled him, pinning him against the wall, but gently so she wouldn't injure his wing, and placing her hands on his sides. Josh's eyes widened. What was Leena planning? As Josh opened his mouth to say something, Leena tickled his sides with her fingers. Josh howled with laughter, trying to squirm free. He pawed at Leena's face, but she wouldn't stop. She tickled him harder until he fell to the floor, laughing.
"S-S-STOP! I'LL BE GOOD!" Josh squealed as he continued laughing, trying to swat her hands away with his tail and wing. She snickered but didn't stop tickling him. "PLEASE! I CAN'T BREATHE!" He pleaded. Leena finally stopped, helping him to his feet. She smirked as Josh stood there panting heavily.
"Let's drive down to the diner them, shall we?" Leena asked with a giggle. Josh rolled his eyes, putting on a smile as they walked out the front door together, heading towards the red car parked in the driveway. Leena got in the driver's seat, and Josh got in the back. He had a fear of sitting up from ever since the car accident he had when he was younger. As soon as the car started up, Josh was lost in thought.
