The alarm clock went off at 6:30 AM, startling Josh awake. He yelped, rolling over in surprise and squishing Leena beneath him and his wings. He winced as he rolled on his injured wing.
"Fatty!" She squealed underneath him. Josh rolled the other way, his tail swatting at the alarm clock, still beeping. Leena shoved him out of the way and hit the snooze button. She sighed in relief. Josh's wing swung past her, swatting the alarm clock onto the floor. Leena grabbed at Josh, but he was already pouncing for the alarm clock. "JOSH WAIT! YOU'RE GOING TO-" Josh was holding it in his hands, and slammed it onto the ground, shattering it. Leena groaned loudly, grabbing his ear and yanking it toward her. Josh whimpered. "EXPLAIN!" She yelled at him. He flattened his ears, rolling onto his stomach in a submissive posture. Leena glared at him, jabbing him hard in the ribs. The blonde neko winced, curling into a ball to protect his stomach.
"It was annoying and I was having a good dream!" Josh protested. Leena snorted, grabbing him underneath his arms and lifting him onto the bed.
"You adorable, reckless little IDIOT!" She tried keeping a straight face but to no avail. Josh could see her smile beginning to appear.
"You're smiling, you know that?" Josh teased. She jabbed him, but Josh caught her finger. He raised his eyebrows playfully. Leena smirked, pulling her finger free and grabbing a pillow. Josh tried raising his hands in time but was too late as the pillow was thrown at him. He tumbled backward, raising his legs to protect himself. "LEEENAAAA! I'M SORRY-" She shut him up with another pillow to the face. He shook his head, standing up and raising his arms to block the third pillow. "LEENA PLEASE!" He begged, picking up a pillow and holding it tightly as Leena began swatting at him with a smaller pillow she held from the armchair in the living room. She ignored him, and Josh sighed, continuing to block hits. She froze a moment before striking him again, and Josh was onto her like a viper. He grabbed her arms and spun her around, pressing his arms around her to prevent her from escaping. Leena was panting, her eyes widened at having been caught so easily. Josh glanced over at the scattered pieces of the alarm clock on the floor, letting go of Leena and crouching to examine them. He was about to sweep them out of the room with his tail when something rammed into his conscious with such force, he was knocked to the floor. Leena was immediately beside him, her eyes filled with worry. He could see her lips moving but heard no sound. He shut his eyes, trying to block the pain that was slowly taking over. 'SAVE THEM' he saw on his eyelids. He reopened his eyes, gasping in fright. What was that? He shut his eyes again, this time seeing an image of a child standing outside, crying as a car drove away from a building. He opened his eyes for the second time, now really curious about these images he was seeing. He looked at Leena, who was in tears now and had rolled him over onto his back, hitting his chest and shaking him, tears falling down her cheeks. But he had to find out what these images were. Why was he getting them? Who was sending them, if anyone? He shut his eyes tight, letting them overwhelm his senses. Soon it felt like he was right there watching the scenes happen in front of him. A person in purple strode up behind the child, and Josh could sense that something bad was about to happen. The child's crying had increased, and the person grabbed the child, and it went limp within seconds. Was it....dead? Josh continued watching as the purple guy-a man- scooped up the child and disappeared into the building. Josh followed with a twitching tail, feeling bad for the now dead child. The man walked down a series of hallways and past multiple rooms until he got to one that said "Parts and Services", where the man dropped the boy down on the floor and left the room. Josh hovered by the boy's dead body, ears lowered in sympathy. He whirled around, hearing soft footsteps as someone else entered the room. His eyes grew adjusted to the darkness immediately, and he saw a figure enter the room with a white mask with black eyes and purple tear stains. As Josh looked at the back of the figure, he saw that they had long black hair. So whoever it is, must be a girl. She picked up the boy and carried him from the room, and Josh followed. In the room she just entered, there were suits. Animatronic suits. One in particular was a golden version of Freddy, slumped down on the ground with its head drooping. Josh watched in horror as the woman took off the head and stuffed the boy inside, almost carelessly. It was sickening to watch, but for some reason, he couldn't turn his head away. He watched as she placed the animatronic head on the boy, stepping back. With a burst of sparks, it sprang to life. The boy lifted his head, looking at the woman.
"I am the Marionette. Do not fear, for I have given you the greatest gift, another chance at life." She said in a soothing voice. So that's what she was. A marionette.
"W-what happened to me?" The boy asked with a quivering voice. Marionette patted him on the head.
"You were killed." She said simply. And then the vision started to fade, and Josh was thrown back into the present with surprising force. Leena was laying beside him, sobbing. Josh rolled over and wrapped his arms around her.
"J-JOSH! YOU'RE ALIVE!" Leena cried, hugging him tightly and kissing him all over. Josh purred, trying to pull himself away and look at her.
"I...I was having this vision thing.." And he began telling her what he had seen.
