The next day, they drove to the pizza place after spending the entire day with each other, sleeping, cuddling, and just being with each other.

He stared at the animatronics as Leena walked with him down to the office in which he would be staying in for his shift. The neko suppressed a yawn, wishing he had squeezed in a nap as they drove to the pizza place. His stomach growled as he picked up the scent of pizza. He glanced at Bonnie, the blue bunny with a cheesy expression and a guitar in his paws. Josh found it nearly impossible to believe that a male had that name. On Bonnie's left was Freddy the bear. Holding a microphone with a shiny black top hat and a red bow, he had nearly the same cheesy expression as Bonnie. Josh rolled his eyes before looking at Chica, the wannabe chicken. She didn't have a beak, so how was she a chicken? She had a bib around her neck that read "Let's Eat!" And she held a cupcake in one hand. Her mouth was just weird. She had teeth, a thing chickens never have.

"This place is weird, and why did they need a nightguard anyways?" Josh muttered under his breath. The two arrived at the nightguard office. Josh sniffed the room, examining every little detail. A chair sat at a desk with a fan, a multitude of papers, and a phone. On both sides of the desk were vents with light switches above them. Josh cautiously walked over to the chair, sniffing it. The chair smelled like a human but was tainted with another scent. Was that...blood? His ears flattened immediately.

"What's wrong Josh?" Leena asked. He hoped she didn't notice his fear. Josh shook himself, forcing a smile and his ears sprung upright again.

"Er...nothing. Just got lost in thought is all..." He lied, his ears twitching uncomfortably. Leena stepped toward him, grabbing his shoulders and searching his blue eyes. Josh knew he couldn't hide his emotions from Leena. Something always ended up betraying him. His body would twitch uncontrollably, or his tail would lash. This time his voice shook, and his eyes darted around with dilated pupils. Leena narrowed her eyes.

"Josh..." Leena looked at him. Josh looked away, his tail twitching nervously. "Please tell me..." The blonde haired neko opened his mouth but was spared having to answer as an alarm went off, signaling the start of his shift. He sighed, eternally grateful. Leena sniffed, beginning to walk out of the office again. "Please tell me when you get home..." She said before running off down the dark hallway. Josh felt bad. He couldn't even tell his own girlfriend about his misgivings about this eerie place. He sat down in the chair, picking up a tablet that he assumed was the only way of checking the cameras. Sure enough, he was right. He slowly, but it soon was replaced with fear. Something was really, really, REALLY wrong about this place.

Earlier That Day...

POV: Unknown

I sat, curled up in the box, content as I listened to the music box. My peace was soon disturbed as I heard Freddy's voice. I place my hands on the box, about to step out and yell at him, when I heard something interesting.

"We got a weird nightguard coming in tonight. I hear he's got ears like a cat, with a cat tail and wings as tall as me laying down!" He says excitedly. That can't be a nightguard. Maybe it's an animatronic... I hear another voice, Bonnie, voicing my thoughts.

"Don't be stupid! It's probably a new animatronic!" Bonnie snaps.

"Whatever it is, it probably won't smell like an animatronic. Maybe its a costume? I got a whiff of him this morning when he came to check out the place, sure didn't smell like an animatronic." I hear a slap, cringing slightly as I hear Freddy wince.

"You idiot! We were once human, so you probably smelled yourself!" I sigh, silently lifting the box lid and stepping out into the darkness.

"Yes. And don't forget who gave you another shot at life." I say coldly, my back turned to them for a dramatic effect. Bonnie squeaks in surprise.

"P-puppet!" Bonnie squeaked. I whirl around, hands raised and my eyes lighting up with white, glowing pupils. I jerk my hands left, sending Bonnie flying into the wall, deactivating on contact. I turn to Freddy, my glowing eyes dimming a bit.

"Thank you for saving me!" He rushes toward me for a hug. I sigh, turning my head briefly before my eyes glow as I turn to stare at him again. He pays my eyes no heed as they flash. The animatronic crumples to the ground before me, blood spouting from his body. I lift a palm, blasting him backward with a force. He tumbles to a halt beside Bonnie, his head falling off. I'll fix him later. I roll my eyes and walk back to my box, shutting the lid on me as I curl up inside it. The music box resumes playing as I close my eyes.

"Idiotic children. My precious puppets... I'll be adding another one soon, dearies..."

Josh's Nightmare (Last Night)

Huh? I thought I saw something out of the corner of my eye as I walked down the hallway. I had decided to chase Leena to say goodbye to her. She stands at my side, glancing around warily. I look around, and there it was again! It looked like a long black leg. I get on all fours, creeping towards the direction it came from. Down a series of hallways, through the kitchen, and into a party room. That's odd, there's nothing-A BOX! I see a box in the back of the room and run to it, pulling off the lid, and crouch. I spring forward, but arms wrap around my waist and pull me back. I panic, pulling off my shirt and letting my wings spread free. Agony washes over me, and I remember i broke my left wing. I screech in pain, my wings instantly folding. So I can't wing combat my opponent. I'll have to use my tail then. I hiss and wrap my tail around my attacker's face. That's when I feel it. A chill running down my spine. I gasp as the box lid slowly slides to the floor. The hands that held me tighten, and I smell a scent of fear. Leena. My claws unsheath, ready to attack. And then I notice the music box. Wasn't it playing a different tune? Now it's playing a sped up version of Pop Goes The Weasel... My senses scream at me, telling me to run. I whirl around and bolt, picking up Leena and running off at full speed. I hear a terrifying scream, and I turn my head. A puppet all in black with a white mask and purple tear stains is flying at us. I set Leena down and let the puppet ram into me. I stare at its terrifying face, pummeling it with claws and teeth. My claws don't seem to be doing any damage, nor do my teeth. Its eyes flash, and I see a pair of glowing white pupils before being tossed further down the hall. I thrash in the air, trying to land on all fours so I won't injure my wings again. That's when I notice the puppet creeping towards Leena. NO! I manage to land on my feet, and throw myself back at the puppet, snarling with froth flying from my lips as I claw, kick, bite, and do everything I can to make sure this monster doesn't harm Leena.

"Foolish creature!" The puppet grabs me by my arms and slams my back into the wall. I wail, feeling bones in both wings breaking. It does it two more times, then tosses me to the ground. I lay trembling, my wings broken and smashed, and a finger pressed against my now bleeding lip. But i'm not giving up. This creature is NOT allowed to touch Leena. I hear her scream, and jump to my feet, ignoring the huge spikes of pain racking through my body. But by the time I look around, she's gone. And so is that cursed puppet. I growl, following Leena's scent trail until I end up outside a room titled "parts and services". And then i smelled blood. I headbutt the door open, stepping inside with my ears flat against my head. The sight is enough to make me want to pass out. Bodies. Everywhere. Some with missing limbs, or bodies completely torn to shreds. This place is a living nightmare. And in the corner stands the puppet, holding Leena in its arms. Its glowing pupils seem to stare into my soul. I freeze, unable to move due to the intensity of its gaze. It gets up, walking over to me. I can't move, even though I probably should. It tosses Leena aside, her landing with a thump as it comes closer, and closer until it's a few inches away from my whiskers. It's so close, I can hear its heartbeat, beating like thunder. I don't dare to breathe.

"Hello, Joshinette." Its voice drawls. That's when I began feeling unbearable pain, almost like my limbs were being torn apart. I screamed, still frozen in spot. The pain hurt so much, i'm surprised I didn't die as soon as it started. "I'll start by taking out your heart..."
