Chapter 10

Kaia's P.O.V

"Hey!" Darien greeted cheerfully causing me to groan, "Hey." I responded dropping my dance bag on the floor, he laughed, "Tired?" He asked, "Yeah, I had a long night." I chuckled, I sighed seeing everyone practicing already and I barely have the energy to stand up. "Have you seen Lily and Aaron's dance?" I asked as I watched them practice, "Yes, they're so good." He said watching as well. "Alright, come on. Let's practice." I said plugging my phone into our speakers, I mentally counted out the beats as we went along. I held my hand out to Darien for a high five as I watched everyone finish up their practices, we've all gone through our dances a lot, seeing as the competition is this weekend.

I was packing up my stuff when I heard a shriek followed by a thud on the ground, I whirled around and saw Lily on the ground crying and holding her leg. "No, no, no." I whispered rushing over there, immediately I could tell it was broken. I've broken my leg once like she just did. "Come on, you're okay." I said as Aaron and Darien helped her up, I wrapped one of her arms around my shoulder and helped her walk to my car, "Do you need some help?" The dance teacher asked, I shook my head, "No we're fine. Thank you." I said politely as we kept going, I sighed helping her sit in my car.

"What happened?" I asked as I started driving to the hospital, "We were doing this lift and I had told him to try holding me a different way so it would look better you know?" She paused, I nodded, "Well he didn't have a good enough grip on me and I fell." She finished, "I'm sorry." I told her, "It's fine, I'm just mad I won't get to dance in the competition." She said, tears starting to fall from her eyes, "Aw, it's okay. They'll be a ton more competitions, you'll bounce back in no time." I said a sympathetic smile on my face as I parked, "Yeah, I guess." She said as I hopped out and went around to help her. 

"Did you tell your parents?" I asked as we sat waiting for the doctor to finish looking at the X-Rays. "I texted my mom, they're away on a work trip." She explained, "Oh, Lily! I told you that you could stay at our house when they're away, that way you don't have to be home alone in that empty house." I said immediately, she shrugged, "It would be like I moved in." She laughed annoyed at the thought of her parents always being gone, "I know how you feel." I sympathized, "But just stay tonight at least, please." I begged, "I guess I would get to see Liam more often." She said a smile forming, "Yes!" I cheered being interrupted by the doctor. "I'm afraid your leg is broken Miss. Matthews." The doctor announced, "A nurse will be in shortly to help me put the cast on." He added on as he continued to talk about how long it will take to heal.

"Oh hi Mrs. McCall." Lily and I smiled, "Hello girls." She smiled setting down the stuff for the cast. We had casual conversation with her as the doctor was putting it on, "And done!" The doctor announced leaving shortly after, "I'll get some crutches for you and a wheelchair to get to your car." Mrs. McCall said before walking out. "Ew crutches." Lily groaned as she started to use them around the room to get used to them, me and the new nurse who brought them in laughed, "You'll live Lily." I said as she sat in the wheelchair.

"Homeward bound." I laughed as we finally left, sighing I answered my phone as Theo called for the fifth time, "Yes?" I asked putting it on speaker so I could drive better, "Where are you?" I heard Liam and Theo chorus, "Are you at my house?" I asked forgetting he was supposed to meet me there after practice, "Yes! I have been for the past hour!" Theo said shushing Liam, "Yeah, sorry about that I had to take Lily to the hospital." I stated, "Why?! What happened?!" I heard Liam shout causing me and Lily to both laugh. "She broke her leg." I said pulling up in the driveway, "We're outside." I added on as I hung up.

I laughed as Liam came outside shortly after, he opened Lily's door and pouted seeing her leg in a bright pink cast, "Aw babe." He said leaning forward and kissing her, I rolled my eyes jokingly. I got out of the car to leave them alone and went inside to see Theo, "How come she gets a nice greeting and I don't?" I pouted seeing him sitting on the couch playing on his phone, "Did you break your leg?" He asked smirking, "I feel the love!" I exclaimed rolling my eyes as I laughed. He laughed coming over to me, kissing me pretty forcefully, a blush forming on my cheeks as he pulled me closer, "Better?" He asked pulling away, "Better." I stated smiling up at him, he laughed shaking his head.
