Chapter 1
Why do witches get such a bad name? I mean seriously people I've gone to this school my whole life and never put a curse or spell on anyone. Well, when I was younger I tried but they never worked anyways. Now they would. Maybe. . .okay stop your getting off track Jillian. The two girls sitting behind me were getting on my nerves. Amber and Ashley were talking about me.
"That necklace she wears is so ugly" Amber said in disgust.
"I think it's pretty but I wouldn't wear it. It means you're a devil worshipper" replied Ashley.
They were whispering to each other but I had slightly better hearing than a normal human so I heard everything.
"Her little sisters are such freaks and they live in that big haunted house in the woods" Amber said.
"Yeah, I heard her sisters were skipping down the hall together singing "I'll put a spell on you" and pointing to other people in the hall. It got everyone freaked" Ashley said.
I smiled a tiny bit. They had to start trouble. No one was supposed to know what we were. How could we keep what my family is a secret if my twin sisters were announcing it to everyone. I was going to tell my Nana this time. I had never acted like them. It must be a twin thing because my Aunts were the same way.
The bell would be ringing in 5...4...3... I stood up out of my seat and headed towards the door purposefully bumping into Ambers desk. She looked up at me with hate in her eyes. I smiled down at her. I'm not sure why she didn't like me. I had never done anything wrong to her before. I kept to myself mostly. I walked away as she flicked her red hair out behind her.
Finally, it was the end of the day. There was a slight buzz around the school. The year was almost over. We only had about a month left. I headed out the side entrance of the school so I could walk home. My sisters complained because I almost never drove to school, except in the winter or if it rained all day. I loved to walk especially since my walk took me through the woods. Being around nature has this soothing and relaxing quality. I was also able to walk alone since my sisters chose to walk with the herd of students on the sidewalks to get home. Well, except today I thought as they came up behind me. I picked up speed.
"Jillian, wait I need a favor" Josie called.
I rolled my eyes. Of course she did. "What Josie? And I heard what you two did today" I said as I turned to look at them both. They had long light brown hair with light hazel eyes. With a long thin face. They were very pretty. I wish I had their eyes. I had my mom's brown eyes that were so dark they were almost black.
"What did we do?" Jolie asked.
"You were singing 'I'll put a spell on you' down the hallway." I narrowed my eyes at them.
"Oh, that" Jolie shrugged her shoulders. "We were just having fun."
"Well in my last class two girls were talking about it. They also were talking about my pentagram." I automatically put it back under my shirt where it stayed during school. I tried to not let anyone see it. It was a sign of what we were. Mine was tiny and silver with colored stones at the points of the five sided star. There was a different color for each element it represented. Green for Earth, white for Air, red for Fire, blue for water and purple for Spirit. It hung from a long, thin silver chain.
