Chapter 2: Something different, something surprising.

Welcome back humans! Today we'll be observing Jess when she is 16 and breaks her first bone. So what has happened since last time ? Jess now lives in her apartment in Cardiff with her foster parents. The colours are bright and warm, the sun looks as almost if it's smiling as well as looking like a beacon of hope. It's sports day at her school and young Allen is freaking out as she can't find one of her science textbooks. Also that she is doing 100m for her house (Fitzgerald) at sports day today. Jess isn't a natural born athlete but her future will involve a lot of running so she will need to shape up not only is she doing running she's up against Catharine Spencer-Smith of King-Edwards house; Catharine is Jess' arch enemy although Jess ignores her all the time she's the best at running in the year and extremely irritating towards Jessica. Jess' house Fitzgerald are losing here and she really needs to get some points in order for her house to win. The runners take their position at the start line; Catharine throws a filthy smirk at Jess she ignores it as usual. The announcer calls out to the crowd and the participants: " Ladies, on your marks..." a pause "... get set and..." hurry up woman it's not the X factor here."GO!" The starting pistol is fired and the runners are off to a fairly even start Allen is doing well and is keeping up with the rest of the group. Catharine on purpose kicks Jessica's leg making her stumble and fall, Catharine played it off as an oblivious accidental act. Jess is falling. I can tell you audience that she isn't going to hit the ground well she landed very awkwardly on her arm. A snap. A scream. A couple of marshalls come running forward helping her off the track. Clutching her arm Jess is guided towards a chair, the first-aider inspects her arm making it move ever so slightly she winced the arm is confirmed as broken. Her parents are told, an ambulance comes. Now you think she would get on the ambulance and go to the hospital but she doesn't. Her foster mother comes forward. " No, no we don't need an ambulance we can patch her up at home. Come on Jess, love." You may think the mother is insane this girl clearly needs an ambulance and she needs to go to hospital. Audience this mother in fact very wise and is only protecting her daughter. Allen is puzzled, an argument occurs between her mum and one of the school nurses. In the end her mum wins and the family return home Jess is unsure of her mother's acts.Let's now listen to a conversation between Jess and her foster mother audience.
" Jess, sit down love." She pulls out a chair for her.
" Mum wh-"
" Nuh uh, sit and listen." Jess sits. " Now I understand why you must be confused dear, why would a mother not send her daughter to the hospital. I did this to protect you. I want you to think back to the last time you can remember seeing a doctor."
" I, um I can't remember. Mum why haven't I ever been to the doctors?"
" When you were abandoned at the orphanage a note was left with you, the social workers believe it was from one of your parents,the note read: Her name is Jessica Emiliana Allen, I leave her with you as a group are looking for her. She nearly got found. I ask you of one thing: DON'T EVER TAKE HER TO THE DOCTORS or they will find her. Please look after her well. Since then the orphanage never took you to the doctors and I've promised not to."
" Who will find me if I go Mum?"
" I don't know dear but it's best to not find that out."
Well wasn't that interesting audience! A few months later Jess decides to go back to the orphanage and get the last of her things as she hadn't moved in completely with her foster parents. It's the evening we're back to the first colours now with added thunder storm! She is boxing the last of her things, a rumble of thunder, a flash of lightning and abracadabra! There is a man at your window peering in. It takes a while for Jess to notice this man, she jumps back alarmed at his presence. There's a tap on the window and he speaks: " Are you going to let me in its freezing out here!" The man is quite young and boyish he wears: trousers, a shirt, a tweed jacket and a bowtie. Jess decided to let him in, well he wasn't holding anything and your typical murderer doesn't wear tweed and a bowtie, I think. The man jumps in and speaks:" Ah , just in time, yes I think you're the one. Amazing Allen, amazing Jessica Allen I've found you and just in the nick of time. You can close your mouth now it doesn't need to hang open all the time. You are Jessica aren't you otherwise this is really awkward and I'm so sorry for interrupting your day."
"Yes I'm Jessica Allen and who are you sir?"
