Sage's POV
"That was the last box!" I shout from the driveway.
"I cannot believe my little girl is moving to London!" my mom exclaimed while making her way from the front door to the moving truck. "It feels like just yesterday you were playing with your stuffed animals, and next thing I knew you started middle school. Then you applied for your first job and now you've been accepted to the UCL Medical School of London!" By the end of her "little" speech, she was weeping.
"Don't worry Mom, you still have me!" my little brother, Eric, reassured her.
"Oh, goodie," my father sarcastically remarked.
"Ma'am, I hate to interrupt, but I need you to sign these forms," the moving guy said politely.
"Of coarse," I smiled while a single tear escaped from my right eye. I had so many mixed feelings about moving to London. On one hand, EUROPE BABY!!!!!!!!!! My friends, Claire and Brooke, and I have talked about moving to the UK since we were 12 years old. Now I'm almost 19 and we're fulfilling dreams we thought would never come true. But on the other hand, I was leaving my hometown of Lafayette, Louisiana. All of my family in America? What would they do without me;) . I loved all of them to death and I don't know what I'll do without them. What will happen to my relationships between all of my cousins, who were in fact very close to me, and I? I won't see them for Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, or summer vacation because plane tickets are too expensive for me to fly out for more than once a year. I guess I'll just have to FaceTime.
I quickly filled out the forms before the moving truck drove off and headed toward the airport.
"What time are you leaving on Saturday?" Eric asked.
"Around 12:00 pm, because my flight leaves at 1:30pm. Then I fly from Dallas to Essex. After that, a train will take us to London."
"Damn, that's a lot of layovers," he laughed as I rolled my eyes. "By the way, why do you have two suitcases? You're only staying for four more days. That's four outfits, two pairs of pajamas, and a small bag for toiletries."
"The small one has all that," the big one has all of my One Direction books, posters, documentaries, and cardboard cutouts, folded up of coarse," I answered simply.
"Oh my gosh, why couldn't that go in a cardboard box with the rest of your crap? I thought you were done fangirling anyway." he retorted.
" Because they're my babies! I need to make sure they're safe. And just because I'm done with fangirling doesn't mean these things aren't special to me. Those items represent an entire ERA of my life!" I explained. Gosh, guys are so hard to get through to.
"I don't know how we can even be related," he muttered before walking away.
"I was wondering the same thing!" I countered.
"Sage!" my parents called in unison from the kitchen.
"Yes?" I called out walking into the kitchen. They looked at me with wide eyes and Mom's hands were shaking as they held a lavender envelope.
My dad spoke up, "We have a graduation present for you, ya know, besides paying for 1/3 of your flat utility bills for your first year or two in London." I giggled excitedly as I took the envelope and carefully opened it.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG MOM AND DAD I LOVE Y'ALL OMG AHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I screamed.
"It sounds like you're NOT through with your fangirling days," Eric shouted from his room. At that point I was in tears on the ground. I couldn't believe it. I had tickets to see One Direction!!!!!!!!!!! Floor tickets!!!! O MY GOD!!!AHHHHHH!!! ASDFJKL!!!
"The tickets are for a concert in London, a week after you get there," Mom explained when I calmed down. "They're floor seats, but 10th row. That's as close as I could get, sorry." Was she freaking kidding me?!
"Mom, you have nothing to be sorry about!!!!!! This is the best present a fangirl could ever ask for!!!!!!!!!" I proclaimed as I engulfed her in a warm embrace. I looked down and noticed there were four tickets. "Uh, mom? There are four tickets, enough for me, Claire, and Brooke. Who's the fourth ticket for?" I questioned. Brooke and Claire were huge directioners, as I am. Brooke had dark red/brown hair that was wavy and pretty brown eyes. Claire had bright blue eyes and had pin straight blonde hair. Both of them were super pretty, prettier than I'll ever be anyway. I'm not saying I'm not pretty, because I think I am. I have long brown pin straight hair and big brown eyes. I have fairly tan skin because I spend a lot of time outside and I better than average acne. But, compared to my friends, I'm nothing. To be honest, sometimes I don't like going out in public with them because the guys always notice them instead of me.
"Glad you asked," Dad chimed in. "Your cousin, Kate, is gonna fly out to London for the concert. But her parents haven't told her yet, not til a couple days before the concert anyway," he laughed.
"Oh my gash, Kate is gonna FLIP OUT!!!!! OMG!!!!" I squealed. Kate was ALMOST as big of a directioner, but not to the extent that I am, just yet anyway. "So did you pay for all of these tickets?!"
"Uh, hell to the no!" my mom laughed. "The parents of the child payed for them. But Claire and Brooke's moms are leaving it up to you to give them the news," Mom explained.
"Well, this is gonna be interesting," I said with a devilish smirk playing on my lips.
