Sage's POV
"Promise you'll call me every single day?" my mom cried as she hugged me with all her might. We were at the airport and Claire, Brooke and I are saying our goodbyes. Just in case you're wondering, they still don't know about the concert ;).
"Of coarse Mom! I'll call you when I land," I managed to choke out through the tears. This is it. I'm really gonna move across the Atlantic Ocean to a brand new country that's six hours ahead of my family's (Central Time Zone, sorry!) and just ughhh! I was starting to feel as though this would be a lot harder than it seemed it would be.
My dad must've noticed the look of panic etched onto my face, because he wrapped his arms around me and whispered into my ear, "You're a lot stronger than you think. Do you remember in middle school when you wanted to try out for the boys football team because the girls didn't have one? The only thing that stopped you was your mother, who didn't want two sweaty pigs running around the house," he smiled, referring to Eric. "And who could forget the time we went on vacation in Alabama when Eric got bullied by an Alabama fan at the park because he was wearing an LSU sweatshirt? Who was the one would stood up to that punk? You. You were the one to tell him, 'Back off punk, at least we beat your team's ass.' But my favorite Sage-Is-Strong moment was when you told us that you got into the UCL Medical School. Your voice was full of confidence and you stood tall and strong like nothing could get in your way. Don't worry about calling us "every" day, but just a text before you go to bed or when you wake up just so we know you're OK would be nice," he smiled.
"Thanks, Dad," I cried into his shoulder before I moved onto Eric. "Bye Er-" I started.
"Flight 324 boarding at Gate3. Lafayette to Dallas. Flight 324 boarding at Gate3. Lafayette to Dallas," the intercom lady interrupted.
"Whoops! Looks like I can't say goodbye!" I teased before pulling him into a hug. "Believe it or not, I'm really gonna miss you. Who's gonna get me a soda when I'm too lazy to?! Cause I'm positive singing 'What Makes You Beautiful' really loud won't annoy Claire or Brooke into doing it for me. In fact, they'd just start singing along," I laugh/cry. I can't believe I'm actually gonna miss Eric.
"I'm gonna miss you Sis. Take care," he says as I pull away. Immediately I notice he has teary eyes.
"Oh gosh, you look like you're about to cry!" I squeal before engulfing him into another hug.
"Shut up," he mutters before pulling away again.
"Second call for Flight 324 boarding at Gate3. Lafayette to Dallas. Flight 324 boarding at Gate3. Lafayette to Dallas," the intercom lady says loudly into her microphone. Claire and I hug our families one more time before heading over to the gate a few yards(meters) away.
I look back not only at my family, but at my hometown of Lafayette, Louisiana. No skyscrapers, traffic is minimal compared to big cities like New York or Chicago, especially London, and family owned restaurants where everyone knows everyone. It's pretty hard to go out in public and not run into someone you don't know. This city is where I learned how to do, well, everything. Now, I'm headed to London. LON. DON. A city visited by people WORLDWIDE. Before I had a panic attack and change my mind about moving, I handed my ticket to the airport employee in exchange for a fake smile and a high-pitched "Have a nice flight!" I waved goodbye to my family and basically my entire childhood before walking down the terminal. About halfway through the walk to the plane, Claire squealed, "We're goin' to London bitches!!!!!!" Oh gosh this was gonna be a long flight.
Niall's POV
"So, Niall, when should I be expecting grandchildren from you, eh?" my mum asked. I nearly choked on my water and gave her my 'Are you freaking serious?!' look. "Oh c'mon Niall! Greg and Denise had they're baby! I really want grandchildren, Niall," she pleaded, though even she knew she couldn't win this one.
"First of all, Mum, they're married! I don't even have a girlfriend. And I'm not looking for one either. Second of all, I'm about to go on tour again. I leave tomorrow for England to prepare for our first show in London. I'm not thinking about getting a girlfriend or getting married or having your damn grandchildren," I ranted. She gave me a look before I mumbled, "I'm sorry, Mum. It's just that my life's too complicated right now to worry about those kinds of things. Besides, I'm still 19!"
"I know, I know. I'm sorry for pushing. It's just that Greg and Denise have me all excited and now that I have my first grandchild, I'm excited and it's all I can think about. You're right. You're young and have a right to live while you are. So you go ahead and focus on your work. I shouldn't be pressuring you into finding a girlfriend, let alone having my damn grandchildren," she apologized.
"It's ok, mum," I sighed. "Well, I have an early flight tomorrow. I need to be at the airport at 6:00a.m. Did you wanna come, or have me take a cab?" I asked while putting my now empty plate of spaghetti in the dish washer.
"Of coarse I want to go! I want to say goodbye to my baby," she smiles while getting out of her seat at the dinner table to pinch my cheeks.
"Mooooooom," I whined.
"That's my baby! Anyway, you should probably get some rest. I'm gonna wake you up at 4:30a.m. since the airport is a good way from here. Goodnight, Niall."
"Goodnight, Mum," I said before heading to my room. As I started to get ready for bed, I could here my Dad's car roll up, as he was coming home from some work meeting.
Sage's POV
"Gosh, I never knew layovers were so much work," Brooke complained as we got off the train. Claire was busy trying to call a cab, while I was trying to figure out how I'd tell the girls that we were going to a One Direction concert. I think I remember a Starbucks across from our flat complex.
As we got in the taxi, I told the driver, "The Starbucks on West Minstress Street." One the ride there, I tried thinking of a way to tell them we had the tickets again, but nothing came to mind. When e got out, we decided to just keep our luggage with us instead of dragging it back to the flat and then coming back for coffee. Of coarse we got a couple of stares and glances from other customers, but we just shook them off, "How about I get the drinks while you guys find us a table?" I suggested. They agreed and I went up to the barista to order our usual drinks. Before I went outside to find the girls, I took the tickets out of my bag and folded them into the napkins I grabbed from the counter. I walked outside into the cool London breeze and found them sitting at a small table meant for two, but pulled up an extra chair. "Here guys. By the way, check out the new logo on the napkins."
"This is just a bla- AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" she screamed when she realized what fell out of her napkin, soon to be followed Brooke, and then me. It took us a couple minutes and a BUNCH of shushes before we were able to talk somewhat normally again.
"Surprise! These are housewarming presents from our parents!" I said out of breathe.
"Shut up! No way! Oh my gosh!" Claire said speechless.
"We are going to see THE ONE DIRECTION live in concert?!?!" Brooke said with a HUGE smile on her face.
"Yup, in one week! Bye the way, my cousin Kate is coming too. But I didn't think y'all would mind," I told them.
"We don't," they said in unison. After a while of chatting, we decided to check out the flat. I mean, we already visited it and stuff, but this time it's completely different because now it's OURS!!! As Brooke pushed the key into the keyhole, we opened the door to our new lives.
