Niall's POV
Sage was absolutely incredible. She's pretty, funny, and incredibly smart. She was everything I wanted in a girl and more. She was perfect. It was nearing 6:30 a.m. when we realized how long we've been talking for. "Wow, we've been hanging out for 4 hours," I said looking at my watch.
"Wow, really?" she asked, yawning.
"Yea, what time's the interview today, Lou?" I asked.
"9 o' clock."
Damn it, I thought. I only had about 2 hours left with Sage.
"What time is it right now?" Claire asked.
"6:30," I answered.
"Crap! My flight leaves at 8:30!" Kate panicked.
Shit! More like two seconds. Everyone started saying goodbyes and I think I even saw Harry give Kate a kiss on the cheek before giving her a hug. I turned to Sage and wrapped my arms around her small frame. I could get used to this. I don't know how long we stood there hugging each other before Harry coughed and we awkwardly pulled away.
"Bye Niall. Harry. Louis," she mumbled shyly, facing each of us in turn. I thought it was cute how shy she was. I sighed as the girls walked out of the doors(and out of my life).
"Well I invited Alix, Claire, Brooke and Sage to have dinner with us tonight," Louis said, interrupting me from my thoughts.
"Really?!" I said, a little too excited.
"Yea mate. By the way, we know you like Sage," Harry remarked cheekily. My face was crimson red-- I could see it in the reflection of the glass door behind Louis.
"What are you talking about?" I bluffed, trying to play it off. They burst into a fit of laughter.
"Mate....you are....the worst....at lying!!!" Louis said through laughs and I rolled my eyes.
"Okay, so I like her," I said when they finished, both with bright pink cheeks. "What about Harry and Kate? Surely you like her."
"We were just flirting. Besides, I doubt she'd like me," Harry countered.
"SO you do like her," I teased and pinched his cheeks.
He muttered a whatever before asking, "Can we go now? I need to get my beauty sleep before the interview today." We all grabbed our empty cups and threw them away before walking back to our flat complex.
Sage's POV
After running home in 15 minutes, I helped Kate throw all of her shit into her suitcase and lugged it to the car while she used the restroom. She, Brooke and I all squeezed into Alix's car and drove off to the airport.
"C'mon Sage! Hurry up! I'm gonna miss my flight and my mom is gonna KILL me!" Kate urged nervously from the back seat.
"I'm hurrying! Now shut up and let me drive!" I snapped. The rest of the car ride was silent.
We got to the airport at 7:30 a.m. and Ran towards airport security and baggage. Brooke agreed to load Kate's bags onto the conveyor belt that puts the luggage onto the planes while Kate and I went through security. It took 40 minutes and we had to run to get to her gate. We made it with three minutes to spare, since we accidentally went to the wrong gate at first.
"So much for getting Starbucks before boarding," Kate joked.
"Don't worry. I'll get your usual order and drink it for you," I teased.
"Well gee, thanks."
"Flight 47 is now boarding at Gate 9. Flight 47 is now boarding at Gate 9. Rows 1-8 please report to the terminal. Rows 1-8 please report to the terminal," the airport lady announced on the intercom.
"Kate, I'm really gonna miss you," I said all of a sudden feeling emotional. Kate and I are like sisters. I loved her to death and I'd take a bullet for her. I think realization hit me and I realized that there was an entire motherfucking ocean between us now. I won't get to see her as often as I used to, with wasn't that often to begin with.
"Oh no, Sage. Don't you dare start crying! If you start, I'll start," Kate said with a wavy voice. Before we knew it, we were both sobbing on each others' shoulders. Oh gosh we're such softies!
"I'm....gonna....m-miss youuuu," I cried, getting tears all over her purple hoodie.
"M-m-meee toooo," she sobbed.
We stood there crying like someone had just died, catching a few stares. Eventually, they called for rows 33-40(she was 37) and she had to leave.
"P-promise me you'll c-call me when you l-land," I said drying up my tears with the sleeves of my jacket. "I'm gonna miss you."
""I'll miss you too, Cuz. And I promise I'll call you when I get home. We had one huge hug before she got in line to board. When she did, we both waved at each other and she walked down the terminal. I sighed when I could no longer see her and started finding my way to the front entrance of the airport.
