Annabeth

I followed Ms. Hera down a long hallway.

"Okay Annabeth," said Ms. Hera. "stand right here so we can weigh you."

I stood on the scale. We moved into another room where I got dressed in a hospital gown.

"Okay, Annabeth, they're going to out you under so that you aren't awake during surgery. Are you ready?" Asked Ms. Hera. I nodded my head.

I got a shot as I went under.

I woke up with a start. I saw that Percy kid over me.

"Oh, hi. Ms. Hera said I could visit. Hope you don't mind." Percy said.

"No, I don't mind." I said. Or at least, tried to say.

"Um, they said that you might have trouble speaking because your body is getting used to your power. We won't know if the surgery worked until another hour or so." Percy explained.

I made the okay sign with my hand. Percy lifted the cup so I could take a drink. I shooed his hand, grabbed the drink, and took a drink myself. Ms. Hera walked in.

"Hello Annabeth. I just talked with your surgeon. Your surgery was a success. I even found out what they did."

I grabbed a piece of paper by my stand, along with a pencil. I quickly wrote Really? Please explain.

"They put avian DNA in you. Once you heal, we'll test it out. You should be able to fly and heal quicker."

I made the okay sign with my hand as Ms. Hera walked away. I grabbed Percy's arm and started stuck up my finger. OMG! This is just like Maximum Ride!!!!!

"You like to read?" I shook my head yes.

"Um, we're going to get dinner. Want to come? We can get some mashed potatoes so you can write." Percy said. I grabbed his arm again and wrote I'd love to come. Potatoes are a good idea. You're less of a Seaweed Brain than I thought you were.

"Wow. Real mature Annabeth." Percy said, helping me out of the bed. I quickly got dressed, after Percy said he wouldn't look. Percy and I walked to where everyone was getting food.

Percy handed me a plate filled with mashed potatoes and a spoon. I saw macaroni and cheese on the table. It smelled so good.

I took my spoon and I wrote Macaroni and Cheese please. One bowl. I tapped Percy and showed him the potatoes.

"Okay, sit down next to Piper and I'll bring you the bowl." I wrote thx on his arm and took a seat.

"Hey, you okay?" Piper asked. I smoothed out the potatoes and wrote Yeah. Body getting used to avian DNA, so vocals messed up.
