|Jungkook's POV|
"Wait, what happened to happened to the knights and bishops after they were resurrected?" She asked with her propped elbow and rested cheek to her palm.
"They didn't remember anything what happened in the tower so they went back and concluded that witches were fake and just invented rumors about it. But," I paused and stared deeply to her clear hazel eyes. I continued, "I think they won't last long to live."
"Why is that?" She tilted her head.
"I read from a book that when someone resurrected from the dead the master or the one who resurrected them should be always with them or else they would rot to death. In other words they're like puppets with strings because a necromancer can control them whatever he want though with my brother's absence they won't last anyway." I explained.
"I have another question, is it true witches eat humans in exchange for immortality?" I didn't thought she is very clever and skeptical for a human. I must be careful around her then and I still doubt her. If she ever found out the truth, probably she'll get scared and report me to the authorities then I'll be much dammed.
"And where did you get that?" I knitted my eyebrows.
"The rumors say it." Ellie shrugged.
I shook my head in denial and said, "No, it's not true and don't believe it."
"Then how come people keep disappearing in the forest?" She interrogated me more.
"Maybe something accident happened." I made up a false excuse.
"But still—" I cut her off in annoyance.
"Like I said it's not true." She nodded and sighed in defeat. Thankfully, she quite understood and believed my lie. She looked at the window and then her eyes widen in horror.
"Sorry Jungkook it's getting late I have to go now! Thanks again for this flower crown." She hurriedly said and stood up but I quickly grabbed her left wrist to stop her.
"Wait!" I exclaimed. She looked at her wrist then at me, dumbfounded.
"Will you please come back here again?" I begged. It's not I like her presence or anything from her, I just want to keep an eye to her to make sure she could be trusted since I told her almost everything about us.
"Sure I will...Kookie" A playful smirk formed on her face then she sprinted away from me. I was left surprised when she called me by my given nickname. I chortled and shook my head because of this clever yet silly human girl.
The next morning, I saw particles of white balls descending slowly outside of my window while the trees scattered its last leaves; replaced by these white particles and clear frosty ice. I went out of my room and decided to get some fresh cold air at the back of the tower. I stood still as I brushed the compiled snow off my head and shoulders following that, I shoved both of my hands into my pockets.
I breathe in deeply then I raised my hand and waved as branches of tree and vines sprouted from the ground and thought in my head to form a hanging bench. After it was formed, I took a seat and mesmerized the scene of a spectacular winter around me. In a few minutes later, I heard footsteps and felt an approaching presence towards me.
"Umm Jungkook, where did you get that hanging bench?" My eyes landed to the girl with confusion plastered on her face and somehow, I felt glad that she really came back.
"I made it." I replied in casual tone.
"You what! Why?"
I grinned and scratched my cheeks. "I just want to enjoy the winter outside if possible with you."
"With what?" She questioned with a dubious look, seemingly didn't hear my last word.
I vigorously shook my head and said, "N-nothing! Never mind what I said."
That was embarrassing, I hope she didn't saw me flushed a bit. In order to break this awkward situation, I patted the hanging bench for her to take a seat beside me. She came and took a seat as she looked to her feet hanging off the ground.
"What does your parents look like?" I asked out of the blue.
"My father is a merchant who really likes to travel a lot while my mother passed away since I was young." She answered and noticed the sadness in her eyes.
"I'm sorry I shouldn't ask." I apologized and do really felt sorry for her however, she didn't let her spirit down when she shook her head and smiled softly at me.
"No it's alright. My mother died saving me because of the great fire in one of our estate. Sometimes I miss her though." Ellie sighed. Silence and the cry of the frosty wind were only heard afterwards and subsequently she asked a question to me this time.
"What about your parents?" I blinked and looked up to the grey skies.
"The truth is I haven't seen my father yet and I can't remember what my mother looks like. She always wears a black veil over her face even before she left the three of us in this tower."
"Creepy." I chuckled at her response.
"My mother is very traditional. It is said that every noble woman witches should wear a black veil over their face to protect themselves from being cursed but that was before. Nowadays, they wore rings instead." I explained thoroughly.
"You mean like that ring?" She pointed to my index finger so I lifted my hand to show it to her.
"It's my mother's ring actually. I don't know how my brothers acquired this but I'm guessing my mother lend it to my oldest brother, Jin, in case something inevitable happen." I said.
She nodded and another silence between us resumed. Later on, I saw Ellie shivered and braced herself when a strong icy wind passed us. I don't know what I should do to make her warm but there's only one idea I have in my mind since I'm not that good in confronting people in this kind of situation.
"You can move closer to me if you're cold." I offered, lowering my gaze down to the ground and felt warm on my cheeks.
She then pressed her body beside me and rested her head on my right shoulder. I stiffen for a moment, though I relaxed myself later on when the heat radiated to our body.
"I will probably miss you and this moment." She blurted out all of a sudden.
I jerked my head to her with a puzzled look. "What do you mean?"
"Frankly, I and my father were just here for a vacation in my grandma's house and we'll go back to our estate soon." She clarified.
I frowned at her statement and asked, "When is it?"
"In just a few days before my birthday," She replied and looked up to me with a grin on her face.
"Don't cry now, I will surely visit you before my birthday comes."
"I'm not crying!" I protested.
She chuckled and rested her head again to my shoulder. "Whatever."
