Sofias POV

*ding* I look down at my phone and see a new message from Austin. Just seeing his name on my phone screen made my stomach flip. "hey I'm hereeeee! 😃" I can't believe it was already 730. Eva and I had spent almost the whole day by the pool catching up.

I look at myself one last time in the mirror in the hallway before leaving, observing my outfit. White shorts, purple and white striped shirt with flip flops and since I wanted to make sure I looked good, I had actually taken the time to blow dry my hair straight. I nod in approval of my casual outfit and head out the door, yelling "BYE EVA!!!!" behind me. "hey Austin!" I say excitedly, climbing into his range rover.

"hey sof" he smiles. He had the best smile id ever seen in my life. I open my mouth, acting fake shocked

"sof? I didn't know we were on nick name basis....austy !" we both laugh nervously and Austin says that we should "get going" because after eight, the ice cream place, Scoops, gets really crowded. I agree and he turns on the radio.i hear the intro music for "what about love", Austin's new single. I gasp and grab the arm Austin isn't using to drive. "AUSTIN OH MY GOSH !!!!!" I squeal.

He laughs and says "I knew you were the fan girl type!"

"you're right, I'm the biggest fan girl ever! I smile proudly. When the words start, we both sing as loud as we can and I do the dance moves from the video in my seat, it was so fun and he sounded flawless.

"I'm very impressed you know all of the words and dance moves!!!!" Austin says.

"austin I love that song! After you told me about it last night, I went home and couldn't stop listening to it!"

"I'm glad you like it! So now the big question....are you a mahomie?"

"I am a quote mahomie, I'll admit it!" we giggle and song after song, we belt out lyrics and just goof off, being ourselves. It was crazy how comfortable I felt around him, usually around attractive guys Ill say weird and random things and they'll be "scared off" but Austin thinks its funny for some reason, it's strange.

"just in time, it'll start to get busy in like ten minutes !" Austin says, jumping out of the car. I hop out of my door and walk into the little ice cream shop, side by side with Austin. We're walking so close, our hands are practically touching and I find my self imagining what it'd be like to hold hands with him. I sigh and tell myself for the millionth time today that we're only here as friends.

"what are you getting?" Austin asks, snapping me out of my day dream.

"hmmmm uhh cookie dough in a cone with chocolate sprinkles, what about you?"

"cookie dough in a cone, with RAINBOW sprinkles. I'm getting rainbow sprinkles because I'm more fun then you are"

"ok Austin " I roll my eyes and chuckle as the worker hands us our cones.

"5.50" the clerk says. I start to reach in my pockets for money when I hear Austin say "Sofia its literally 5 bucks I've got it"

"but-" I start to protest, however Austin's already paid and now we were walking to a booth. "I could've paid for myself" I note, not wanting to make it seem like I expected him to pay.

"it's fine! Plus, isn't the guy always supposed to pay on a date?" he says, not thinking anything of it.What? This is a date? Was I imagining things? Maybe I shouldn't have had 4 cups of coffee, it was starting to get to my head!
