Sofias POV
I wander down to my kitchen and pour myself a cup of hot coffee. It was almost half way through the month of November and I peer out my kitchen window. Autumn was undoubtedly my favorite season, especially because I live in new England. Why do I love autumn? The leaves changing, the picturesque scenery, the crisp, fresh air, the unbelievably cozy scents, the fun activities, and of course, thanksgiving, my favorite holiday. I sigh and head back up stairs to my room. I'd much rather be experiencing why I love fall on this beautiful Sunday afternoon instead of being stuck with weekend homework. I set my mug down on my desk and blankly stare down at my history book. As bad as it sounds, I couldn't care less about Napoleon and how he failed to invade Russia. However, I needed to trudge through the final few questions so I could continue onto more enjoyable activities (baking). I take a deep breath and start to re read the assigned pages. After getting about half way through my history worksheet, I hear my dog, Mabel, start barking. I assume it's my parents, who were probably just arriving home from the grocery store. I jog down back down the stairs to greet them, great full for a new distraction. I peer out one of my windows, expecting to see a silver Honda civic pull into the driveway. Instead, it's a red range rover that's parked next to my maroon, beat up Santa fe. My stomach drops and my eyes get teary. I know that car, and I know who it belongs to, but I don't know why it- or he- is here.
