It's been half a term and it turns out that I was high on their list. I wasn't number one on their list, even though I'm in top classes for most my subjects, English and Geography excluded. But I was in the top ten. I've been having three marines watching my day to day routine, but they've never seen the midnight trainings. In fact, they're oblivious to them. It wasn't easy to ignore them though. They were always getting on my nerves.

At school, instead of the normal PE lessons and some random lessons, the sergeant, whose name was Johnson, had been making us do marine-style workouts. You know, obstacle courses, push-ups, sit ups, hand-to-hand combat, the works. But they didn't do the weaponry combat for legal reasons. But, however, we were still required to do our usual gymnastics.

"You got to be agile and light on your feet but you don't have to be flexible or able to flip," Sergeant Johnson always remarked at the beginning of every gymnastics lesson. "And gymnastics is one way of developing those skills."

Honestly, it got annoying when he even first said that. But, then again, I guess it didn't really apply to me anyway. After all, ninja on the loose. And ninjas are the best gymnasts in the world, so to speak. But I'll admit, I have been showing off to the marines every chance I get. Only to prove that I'm overqualified but not going to join. But I'm not the only one.

'It's like a rebellion,' I thought to myself one day when we were doing gym again. Watching the people in front doing different jumps over the vault and awaiting my turn, I had only just figured that everyone was secretly rebelling by showing off. It was kinda obvious that it was annoying Sergeant Johnson by the eye-rolling, the sighing and the shakes of his head. But today's lesson was slightly different, cause now Captain Keyes was also watching.

My jump was next. I sighed silently, thinking through every trick I knew. Thump! 'My turn. Let's do something impressive, shall we?' I smirked slightly, glaring at the vault ahead and getting ready to go. My heart pounding excitedly, every senses heightening and my legs ready, all for this one jump. I ran towards the mini tramp in front of the vault, my hair gracefully trailing.

'One foot. Two feet. Aaaand....' Squeak. I bounced up into the air off the mini tramp and did a full double layout half in half out, landing with a little bit of a thud on my feet on the thick, heavy mat. I felt the stunned eyes locked on me as I got off the mat.

As I walked back to the end of the line, I heard the shocked captain mutter to the surprised sergeant "Son of a bitch."

I smirked slightly, standing back with the others. There was a pause before finally the next person had their turn. I could tell from Captain Keyes' and Sergeant Johnson's expressions that they were wanting me to recruit. To be honest with you, I don't know whether or not to let them save their breaths for someone else or to 'torture' them by letting them beg and beg me for a while. I smirked at the thought of letting them beg. 'That'll be interesting to see.'
