"Mom,let me sleep naaa." I whinned.

I mean..I know its my "First day in The Office". But it was way too early to get up and start getting ready.

"Get up or else you'll forget something and later cry about it."Mom's reply came.

Well as my past tells it.I have some issues with time. That I'm never on time!!.

What can I do man!!

And even if I try, somehow I always end up getting late.

"NOT TODAY...." My conscience scolded me.

Getting the point I got off the bed and went to freshen up, I did my morning rituals and took a long shower. After which I dressed up and went downstairs for breakfast.

Mom has made my favourite "Aloo ke Parathe"(*type of bread with veggies mostly potatoes). No need to say I enjoyed my breakfast. I was just about to leave when Mom came in with Dad.

Yeah!! how can I forget.
"My Mom!. She's a typical Indian Bollywood-Inspired-Mother."
As I saw my mom had curd and sugar and Dad had a present sort of thing in their hands.

Mom came forward and fed me the
Curd and Sugar, Well it's a tradition from where I belong that whenever one is about to start something new, or going to do something good. And we want them to succeed, we bless them by feeding them a bite or two of curd and sugar as the symbol of bitter-sweet experiences that they might face but will end up successful similar to the cream that only remains in the mouth after the curd and sugar are swallowed. Weird huh!!  Well that's India. People, we have some weird yet reasonable logics behind almost everything. We have some weird weird illogical stuff too but let's just not talk about it right now. Then Dad came forward and gave me the present he was holding. It wasn't a big box or something but a small present.

I was looking at it when mom said "Open it. See what Dad brought for you."

Dad smiled on that.

I tore the wrapper and found a small box. Like that in which wedding rings are kept but it was bigger than that. At this moment I was having nothing less than 99 possible gift ideas that could be possibily inside this little wrapped up box.

"Open it." Dad said this time with excitement clearly visible in his voice. It gives you immense pleasure seeing your Dad being that excited about something. Indian Dads are not so expressive kinda beings. They just do not know how to express it out. The untouched ocean of emotions that they hide behind the Stern look of theirs.
I opened it and found key of a bike my eyes widened in surprise.

"Come check it out." Dad said and took me out of our house.
There I saw it shining like a solitaire in morning sun.

"A Brand New KTM RC 390"

I could not find my voice to say anything. See we guys share a special bond with our Vehicle. For me it was love at first sight. I was still making promises to keep her safe and sound no matter what happens.

"Won't you say anything???" Mom said breaking my trance.

"How!!!...What!!....When??....Why???" Came out of my mouth.

"Son..you've made us proud, its just a little return gift for being the wonderful son that you are." Dad said patting my back. And with that he hugged me.

"Ahem ahem." Mom fake coughed.

We got the drift and got her too for a family hug. This is my family. I felt fortunate enough for having these people as my folks, I couldn't have asked better.
