When that day came. It was like my heart got shattered into a thousand pieces. It was that day. That day was the day I wouldn't see my dad again for five years.
I couldn't believe it. After I found that out my mom also told me she put a restraining order against him. She scared me into believing he was more dangerous than I thought.
One night I was walking home and I thought I saw somebody watching me. So I ran home and told my mom. She then called the cops.
Four cop cars showed up and started driving around. After about an hour they said they couldn't find anyone and left. I was really scared. For a reason I didn't really know.
After that day, a month later I had to say good bye to John. We were moving to Missouri. My aunt and uncle lived where we were going so I didn't think it would be that bad. And it wasn't.
I made friends easily. Although they didn't have a soccer league.
My closest friend up there was Spencer. He lived three doors down from me. He was a red headed chubby kid who had a weird personality.
After about two weeks of being the new kid this girl came up to me. Her name was Ruth. She asked me who I was, if I liked anyone, what grade I was in. So I told her.
She said, " My friend Charlie to thinks you're really cute and wants to know if you'll be her boyfriend". I looked over to this group of girls staring at this conversation I was having with Ruth. I met the gaze of Charlie and without hesitating I said "okay".
Ruth ran back to the group, Charlie looked at me, smiled and they all walked off. It was weird because even though we were dating we didn't talk for a few weeks.
Finally we started talking. She was shy just like I was. We were both trying to figure out where we fit in. I joined Choir and she joined band. So we both liked music.
I went further though because she quit after a month. I continued in the Choir and even sang the National Anthem at a St. Louis Cardinals game. That was really fun to do.
The sad thing is, we never really did date. People knew we were, but we didn't. It was like we were both too shy for our own good.
So we just ended up breaking up with each other. We never really talked after that either. I stayed with my group of friends and she stayed with hers.
It's funny how even young kids have cliques.
