There was a plain old house in a plain grassy hill. No one lived in there anymore except for someone who was just moving in. The sound of moving trucks grew bigger and bigger until they were right near the house and individuals hopped out, carrying equipment and furniture into the empty house.
Then, there was you. You, fortunately, was allowed to take a drive with the people inside one of the moving trucks. Patting your F/C shirt, you jump out of the truck and look upon your new home. It wasn't too good and definitely didn't seem bad. It was perfect for you.
You head inside and observe the walls and flooring, taking an instant liking to it. It already had carpets, too in certain rooms. "Ah!" You say, falling carefully onto a carpet in a room. You spread your arms up and breathed a long sigh of happiness. "I could get used to this place.." You say in a whisper, smiling.
Now, you were anything but normal to the mass majority of society. Technically being a robot able to somehow fit in and get a house; it made you appear more human to everyone. However, many knew better than to believe that and took it to reality to remind you of still being something else. You were tired of their shenanigans and worked hard to get yourself a home and then, you eventually did. You were free from your past jobs but, you realized that you needed another job anyhow. Sure, your creator helped you out in paying for your home but, you needed to pay the billings on your own.
Once the people handling your stuff finished bringing all of them in, you thanked them and held the door for them as they left. It was good that you didn't have to pay them because your creator did that firsthand. You think of what job you should try to apply for in the meantime, leaving your home for awhile.
Walking among others, you glance at every store and place you pass by to make sure you see a 'Help Wanted!' sign. Neither of them had the sign thus far. You put your hands in your sweater pockets and kept an eye out for any job listings with assistance required. The city you lived near was pretty large so, finding a job could take you forever. Not to mention that you were picky when it comes to choosing jobs..
Right when you thought you were about to give up looking, you saw a place that interested your eyes and that very place was even offering job applications. Glad to have found an interest, you went inside the small building. The first things you noticed was a few robots were around and an eskimo robot was making orders, like he was the one who owned the place. Boxes were scattered carelessly, papers were being put in folders and it appeared to be that they were getting prepared to go somewhere.
"Excuse me!" You say to the eskimo. "I saw there were job applications here and I was wondering if I could apply for one?"
The eskimo, known as Iceman, left the others to continue packing up and approached you. "Those silly job posters outside?" He questioned. "Nope! No jobs here! We're just taking some things from this abandoned establishment. The building used to be owned by Dr. Light; the one who made me!"
You blink, the name 'Dr. Light' sounding familiar to you. "Oh! Sorry to bother you then..." You said to him, ready to leave. But, he stopped you halfway. "Wait! You say you're looking for a job or something?" He asks, tilting his head only the slightest. You nod in response. "Well! I...Know somewhere you could work at. I'm sure you'll like it there." He said, going ahead of you. He opens the door, looks back at the other robots working and tells them "I'll be back! Keep packing and when you're done, escort them to Dr. Light's new location."
You follow behind him when he left the place. Taking you to a bigger building, Iceman got himself scanned by the security system on the door and was granted access inside. You stepped in with him and was surprised to see lively activity going on. The atmosphere in this place was much more comfy compared to the abandoned building. "What's this place?" You ask Iceman.
"It's where I live! My brothers live here as well." He answers, smiling warmly. You smile back and sit yourself on a chair. "There's jobs here?" You questioned. "Yup! I figured you needed an easy job..And uh, it'd be cool to have someone like you here!" He said, excitement in his mood. "Cool like ice?" You joke, apparently. Iceman takes the joke in like a sponge and laughs, almost coughing due to laughing a bit long. You were puzzled as to why he laughed that long and asked him why he did that. "Oops...I guess it's because my name's Iceman or how ironic that sounded.." He replied, rubbing his forehead. Then came your turn to laugh in which was longer than Iceman's. After all that, you calmed yourself down and shook your head. Your laughter embarrassed you a mere tad.
"Heh...Shall we get started?" You said, hiding the tint of redness on your cheeks.
"Mhmm! I'll show you what your task'll be!" Iceman replied, gesturing you to get out of the chair and follow. You obliged, getting off and entering your new workplace in the home.
There, you took care of the energy supplies and occasionally, you fixed up a robot or two. Yes, it was simple to you but, you enjoyed every second of your work. You even managed to get paid through Dr. Light's money, which he gave with ease after a few of your explanations. Life was getting great.
One day, Iceman was perhaps different around you. Every break, he'd avoid you whenever he could and starting up a conversation with him was complicated than usual. You didn't know what was wrong or if you were the main cause of his behavior changing..
You planned to make him feel alright again. Whatever it takes, you just want him to be back to his normal self.
That's why the next day, during one of your breaks, you went to him and talked. "Are you feeling okay?" You asked him. "You're not the same as when I met you.."
Iceman was quiet, standing there without a word. "...Sorry." He finally said a moment later.
"Sorry for what?" You ask before feeling a peck on your cheek and watched in shock as Iceman ran off. You trailed behind close, shouting for him to come back. He kept on running until he was at his room and he was going to shut his door. But, he changed his mind and waited for you to come. You were already there by the time he was between decisions anyhow and it was too late for him to change his mind a second time. "Iceman...It's okay." You say, lightly. "It's not like I hate you. Matter of fact, you're too adorable to be hated."
Hearing the word adorable, Iceman chuckled under his breath, blushing from the sentence. "You mean it?" He asked directly, looking straight at you. "Yes!" You responded, smiling wide.
Iceman walked up to you and gave you a big hug, squeezing you tightly. "Thank you!...I-I love you..." He said, hiding his face. You laugh and hold him close.
"Love you too, Iceman."
The two of you hugged for a little while before breaking away and returning to work.
