The air rushed in, creating waves of water in the big ocean around the world. You watched from your window outside that today, there was a fierce storm. Trees shook against the force, garbage cans got knocked over and people scrambled to get to their homes. If anything, this storm could've worried you to no end but instead, you felt calm. In fact, you were even willing to go out there and take a walk like nothing was happening. You grabbed your nearby raincoat, put on some comfortable boots and got ready to face the harsh breeze.
Once you stepped out, the wind smacked your face, almost making you fall. But, you stayed determined and began your walk throughout the streets. Luckily, not much rain had started to fall down yet and if it did, you'd have to run back home.
Where should I walk to..? You thought to yourself, coming up with a list of places to go to. Select few were too far so, you ended up travelling to a pathway where it was nice and quiet, with only the wind's sound. Several rivers connected to the ocean was there and you went close to one of them, gazing at your reflection. Seconds later, you saw a figure in the water and jumped back, stunned. "Oh...Sorry." Said a voice underwater. "Did I scare you?"
The figure from earlier peeked out of the water, who was identified as some sort of scuba diver to you. Observing him some more, you realized that he was a robot. "No..You just startled me." You replied to the robot, chuckling awkwardly. "Good." He said, taking a look around. He then focused on you. "Pardon but...Isn't the weather a bit dangerous? What are you doing out here?" He asked, his eyes expressing concern. You grinned, shaking your head at his questions. "I'm fine! Weather like this is relaxing, in my opinion." You say, shrugging. The scuba bot frowned, which wasn't too noticeable. He wanted you to leave before this storm could possibly get any worse or threatening. Attempting to send you away, he tells you to go on home and that the storm, while looking pretty nice to you, could hurt you if you're not careful. You just yawned and politely refused. "Fine." He said, sighing for a brief moment. "Don't say I didn't warn you..."
And with that, he went back underwater. You weren't sure if he was still there but, you ignored the thought and was about to sit down on the ground...Until the wind caused you to tumble and fall into the water. Here you were thinking, this was the time that you would either faint or feel the cold clear liquid all over you. Neither was done. It took you little time to find out why.
Having been emerged from the water hastily, the scuba diver robot caught you in his arms and only your lower body could feel the water. Despite the coldness of the water, you felt warm with the robot holding onto you. "See? I told you that this storm could hurt you.." He spoke, nervously. You could only giggle at his nervousness. It was cute that he seemed to care about your safety. "Yeah....So! I got a question.." You said, smiling. The robot gave a confused look, as if he didn't know whether to hear the question or not. Regardless, he responded with a "Yes?"
"How are you staying in the water with ease? I thought robots couldn't be near water at all!" You say.
He, impressed of your enthusiasm of knowing, got straight to the answer. "It's the way I was built. I'm a robot for underwater activities and such. I'm the opposite of other robots, honestly." He replied, embarrassed about saying the last sentence. You saw his expression in the eyes and raised a brow. "What's wrong with that? It's okay to be different!" You assured him, patting his back.
The memories of the past flooded the scuba bot's mind, showing of some of his brothers who teased him. They ran around while shouting insults to him. He couldn't take it. "You don't understand..." He said, trembling. "I've been through so much all because I can't walk on land."
"Those must be bad memories..." You said, frowning. "Don't you have good memories? Memories that are worth thinking of?"
"..."
The robot pondered long, going through many memories. He stopped to remember a few; one involving the company of Heatman, his brother who controlled fire. Heatman didn't mind the robot's lack of land and even comforted him about it.
"Don't worry so hard! You might break a fuse....And besides, you're alright just the way you are." He recalled Heatman say while drinking an E-tank.
The scuba bot's mood changed and he didn't feel as sad anymore. He began looking further into the memories. The ones who normally tease him like Quickman, he found out that they were only joking with him. He remembered them getting worried at some time, too.
"Uh...Yeah, I do. I guess I haven't paid mind to smaller details.." He said to you, snapping himself out of his memories. He carried you up high and gently placed you on the ground. You got up as soon as you were placed down, looking down at the scuba bot. "Great! I can see you feel much better." You said, cheerfully. "So...What's your name anyway?"
He scratches lightly behind his neck, never taking his eyes off of you. You knew he was doing that the whole time and yet it surprised you, bringing upon a small blush on your cheeks. "Bubbleman." He said simply.
"Nice name..It fits you." You compliment, meaning every word you said.
"T-Thanks.." He suddenly stuttered, taking your compliment to heart. "What's your name..?"
"Y/N."
"Y/N? What a pretty name.."
"Really? Aww, thank you!"
Bubbleman was on the edge of hiding underwater in an act of shyness but, kept himself under control. "No problem..." He said. "You should get going. I see the clouds becoming darker.."
You look up and to his confirmation, the thick clouds were getting darker than before. You run a hand through your H/C hair and nod. "Mhm...See you again soon, I guess." You say, waving to him as you left.
"Yes..Y/N, I hope to see you again real soon.." Bubbleman muttered, slowly returning underwater.
-----
Under the comfort of your fireplace and the blanket on your shoulders, you couldn't help but think about Bubbleman. At first, you were worried that the storm may affect him as well. However, you immediately have hope that he's doing okay and that cheers you up already.
You smile and reach for the cup full of hot chocolate by your side.

You can't wait to see him again.
