I take a deep breath, my heart is racing and im crying because i can feel the tears falling down my face. Standing there looking down at the grave plot as I watch them lower both my parents into the ground. Many of my family and friends and even random faces I dont even recognize are they're there to mourn with me. I stand there motionless and remember back when i got the news of my parents death.
*flashback*
It probably was 6pm or 7pm when i get a knock on my front door. I was in my cooking dinner as i do every Friday and my parents will come over and join as we do each week. I called out "just a second, wow dad you dont have to knock everytime you and mom come over," I laughed out. As I open the door I see two police officers stand on my front porch as a third officer is standing by the two police cruisers by the curb.
"Evening ma'am, Im officer Kim Seokjin and does Lara live here," seokjin said with a sad look on his face. "Yes, am Lara. What seems to be the problem," I said with a slight nervousness hidden in my voice. "Well Lara, I have some bad news," officer Kim hesitated for a second.
"Theres been an accident involving your parents and little brother and I was asked to deliver the news to you and asked escort you to the hospital." After officer Kim had finished talking, I didn't move i just stood there not sure to scream or cry or just faint but I felt all these emotions and the only thing that went through my mind was is my Parents, ok? Is my little brother, ok? Was he in the car with them during the accident? Are they hurt? Or even killed? My voice was shaky but ask anyways "Are my parents, ok? Is my brother, ok? How bad was the accident." Officer Kim didnt even look me in the eye and right then an there I knew the answer and that's when I slid to the floor with my face in my hands saying over and over like a trance
"This isnt real, this isnt real, he's lying, he's lying, my parents are ok, this must be a prank," I kept telling myself that as the tears ran down my face and my eyes burned and then everything became a blur before I blacked out. I wake up laying in an all white room with a constant beeping sound coming from some where near my head, ahh I must be at the hospital. I bolt right up because everything rushed to me all at once. The officer knocking on my door and telling my parents and little brother were in an really bad accident and I still didnt know how bad the accident was. I jumped up from the bed running for door when a young looking girl about my age holding my door open just as I was about to open it and demand to see my parents. She looked a bit shocked but she held a warm smile.
"Hello miss, I just here to check on you and to see if you're ok because you fainted." I looked at her getting ready to say "Im ok" but nothing came out of my mouth I just stood there with her watching me with curious but worry in her eyes. She flash a smile and said "Miss Lara you may want to lay back in bed because i cant have you faint again and you must be light headed so its really good that you do, so you dont wear yourself out at this moment in time." I didnt move because my feet refused to move and I kept thinking this is just a dream im not in the hospital, im home cooking dinner and waiting as I always do for my parents and little brother will to come thru the door and have dinner with me. But no im here in this god forsaken hospital and no one still havent told me what happened. Finally I speak "Where are my parents and my little brother? I want to see them just let me see them," feeling to tears falling from my eyes once again. The nurse moves over to where im still standing by the door she wraps her arms around and thats when I fell apart even more. I grasp onto her scrubs shirt like my life depended on it even as I continue to cry into her shoulder asking to see my parents and little brother. She pats my head with one hand and the other rubs up and down my back trying to soothe me. "shhh its gonna be ok, you'll see your parents and little brother but first the doctor has to check you out and he, himself will tell you the cause of the accident." my nurse says into my hair as she leans down to lay her head on mine. As she escorted me back to my bed and said that the doctor will see me shortly, I looked at her with painful eyes and all she did was give me a small smile and a slight firm squeeze on my hand to reassure me that she felt my pain and sadness.
