More and more "Dilmer" sightings were occurring. No matter how many times they broke up they always ended up back together. And that was that. No happy ending for me. I think I knew there never would be one with Demi. Sure, I kept hopeful, but facts were facts and the fact was Demi chose Wilmer, not me.
Demi was the girl I thought I could never in a million years give up on. In reality, I was blinded. Love truly does blind your judgement of every situation regarding that person. Looking back, I must've seemed like a pathetic little boy head over heels for a girl who was way out of my league. As stupid as I was, I don't regret one bit. Demi was worth any risk I took. She was that princess I had longed to one day call mine. I can't waste any more time trying to get her to "come around". I've taken everything Demi Lovato and shoved it to the back of my brain; still in my brain though. She'll never fully leave my thoughts.
I ended up writing Demi a letter that I'll probably never give to her.
Dear Demi,
I don't know when it clicked that we could never work out. Maybe it was at Pink Taco or when you ignored me for months or when you dated Wilmer again or when you wrote a song based off me or when I became like a booty call to you. Never less now I know how unrealistic I've been, thinking that you and I could ever be a we. Sure we always had a good laugh and a good chat, but none of that matters much when it comes down to what's really important. You were never willing to fall for me. I would have always caught you...I promise. Maybe you should listen to your own lyrics sometime. Give Your Heart A Break and Catch Me could really let you know what we could've been. I'll never understand what you had to lose by giving me a shot. Our fans loved us, not all, but enough, you're family would've supported us as well as yours and my friends. I didn't think we were risky, but apparently we were the most dangerous path to you. You chose the safe option. Wilmer was familiar and comfortable to you, but that didn't mean you had to pick him. You were scared. I could tell by the fear in your eyes every time you gave me a glimmer of hope and every time you let me in for even a second. I get your past isn't perfect, but who says that your future can't be better than you could even imagine.
I love you beautiful.

I folded up the letter and placed it under my bed. I lied on the floor of my bedroom and blankly stared at my ceiling. That was the end of my chase. The end of everything that involved Demi and for an instance I almost felt lighter. The heartbreak was still there, but this time around I didn't have to stress because I knew the outcome and it was one that I chose.

I know this isn't the ending many people wanted, but happy endings are overrated ;). I hope you enjoyed this fic and thanks for all the support! I'm willing to write another one so if you have any ideas don't be afraid to share them with me.
