A Fangirl's Dream: Vendetta X Reader

~Chapter Ten~

It was nearly the end of the day when the Miss finally comes home, and that's also when Vendetta finally emerges from wherever he was. You and Poptart only saw him when he came to the kitchen for food or to give you more things to do, then he disappeared once again.

You hurry to the Miss with Poptart to greet her,but when she looks up,you freeze. Her makeup was running as tears fell from her face and her eyes puffy from crying.

"Miss,what happened?!"Vendetta says in alert before you could say anything,all three of you hurry to Mahogany's side.

"The company! Everyone is blaming me for the glitches in the robots!"The Miss starts to sob,you and Vendetta helping her to the couch as Poptart runs off to get tea to help calm the Miss down.

"Poptart told me about the robots. Have you checked and made sure that everything is working correctly?"You ask her.you sitting on one side of the Miss and Vendetta on the other.
"So much that I've lost track! Everything is working perfectly,not one thing out of place!"
"Well...could someone be sabotaging them to make the company go down?"
"We have cameras covering every inch of the building. We watch everything 24/7."

"What if someone is hacking into the robots after they come out of the company?"Vendetta suggests as Poptart finally comes in with the tea. The Miss takes a cup with a shaking hand,seeming to think about that for a second.
"H-Highly unlikely. All of the robots that come from us have software installed that prevents hacks."The Miss replies while taking a sip from her tea, but her voice seemed uncertain.

"But the robots that are reported to have glitched out and attack their 'owners' have also been reported stolen."Mahogany says,her eyes closed as she calms down finally. You rub her back comfortingly as you watch Vendetta. He was staring at the floor,clearly his mind going.

"I just don't want to loose the company...it's one of the last things I have of Papa..."The Miss whispers,wiping her eyes gently and taking a deep breath.
"It's alright,Miss. They will figure out what is happening and I promise that nothing will happen to your company!"Poptart says in her normal cheery voice,clearly trying to get the Miss to feel better.

"Thank you,Poptart. But we don't know that yet," Mahogany stands slowly and puts her cup down, "I am going to go to bed early. Thank you all for your comfort."

All of you nod slightly as the Miss turns,walking slowly to her bedroom and shutting the door.

You look back over to Vendetta,who was somewhat leaned back in the couch and thinking hard.
"I'm going to go do the dishes."Poptart says to break the silence,sighing some as she walks to the kitchen.

"What are you thinking about?"You ask Vendetta as soon as she leaves,scooting to him some.
"Nothing...just thinking about what is happening."Vendetta sighs,puffing his cheek some and leaning on his knees with his elbows.
"Do you think you know what happened?"
"...Possibly."
"You gonna share?"
"No. I need to think on this. I hate seeing the Miss like this."

Vendetta gets up and walks away,disappearing once again.

You are laying in your bed,staring at the dark ceiling as Jenna goes on and on about the new episode of Superntural.
"....then Dean busts in and saves Sam from being killed! It was SO COOL!"
"Mmhm."

She stays quiet on the other end for a few moments,clearly finally recognizing how quiet you've been with this whole conversation.
"Hey...(Y/N),what's wrong? It's not like you to stay this quiet when we are talking. Did something happen?"Jenna asks in worry. Honestly,you were thinking about poor Miss Mahogany. And also about the glitching robots.

"Nothing."
"BULLLLL Baloney! Don't you lie to me!"
"Fine. It's just...something's have been happening with the Miss and her company. I just feel sorry for her..."you explain to Jenna with a heavy sigh.
"Oh yeah,I've heard about the robots from there glitching out and...attacking humans."

The both of you stay silent at that,your fingers rubbing the blanket.

"Well,I should get some sleep. You too. You've got a big day of being a slave ahead!"Jenna jokes and you smile smally.
"I'm a maid,not a slave. Goodnight Jenna."
"Goodnight!"

You hang up with a yawn,curling up in the blanket and sighing some. Almost instantly when you close your eyes,you fall asleep.
