Chapter 1: A New Beginning; AmberDawn

"But I don't want to go to a new school." I whine.

"It's okay dear. We'll miss each other, but this is a big opportunity for you. Don't you want to be the best you you can be?" My mom asks. I was tired of being the weird kid. I knew that this would be my only chance to start over. Maybe I could even be that really cool kid, from another dimension.

"Fine." I go upstairs to grab my suitcase. I look into my mirror one last time. I see what everyone else would see. A weak little girl, with crummy powers. But I know better. I am determined to become strong, so that's what would happen.

My dark eyes scan myself for faults. I was wearing my frizzy hair in a bun, but I decided to put it down. I brushed it, then put in a contraption I had built, for instant curls. All it really did was keep the frizziness from already curly hair though. I hesitated a second, then threw it in my suitcase. I was wearing my favorite purple fuzzy sweater. I had on purple leggings, with a silvery purple jean skirt. I decided to change, and put on jeans instead. I didn't like jeans, but this made me look more fashion forward, I thought. I slipped on purple flats and grabbed my favorite stuffed animal. My mom said I couldn't bring it, because it would embarrass me. Nothing embarrassed me.

I shoved the stuffed dragon into my suitcase, and put in my mini toolbox for good measure. I put a screwdriver in my pocket, and rush downstairs.

I pull out the portal orb, which looks like a crystal ball, and throw it on the ground. A portal explodes from it. I could see the beautiful castle, that is Timendra High.

I hug my mom, and jump in. When I arrive, I see lots of people, but one in partIcular catches my eye.

"What are you staring at, Bit*h?"

"Why are you wearing all black?" I ask in reply to her question.

"How fu*king rude! I'm Claudia Selene, and I'm a black magic witch. That's why!" She pulls back her arm, to punch me. Suddenly she freezes. This was a chance to prove I'm not weak! I didn't really want to hurt this girl, but I wasn't going to be a pushover at this new school. I pull back to punch her.

"Stop!" I hear someone yell. I look over an see a pretty girl, She was just a bit taller than Claudia. She was wearing a cute, but worn light blue sun dress. She wears dark turquoise leather flats with bows on top. She has light brown eyes, and a gold streak through her long, light brown hair. She murmurs a few more words and waves her arms, hair floating above her. I feel a tingling sensatIon across my body, as I begin to float. Quickly rising in momentum, I fly across the sky, landing in a weeping willow, where I swiftly become entangled. When I finally manage to untangle myself, and drop to my feet, I see the girl lying unconscious on the ground. What she's done to me is quickly forgotten.

"Claudia! Get your lazy but over here, and help me get her to the nurse's office!" Everyone gasps, but Claudia just rolls her eyes.

"What makes you think I'm lazy?" She asks.

"Well you weren't helping her." Claudia helps me pick up the girl.

"This is Eve Callister, the biggest freak on campus." Claudia says. "Thats why I didn't help. That and I'm a black magic witch. I don't help anyone but myself."

"Then what are you doing right now?" I ask, thinking I'm clever.

"Skipping our headmaster's introduction speech."

We arrive at the nurse's office, and Claudia dumps Eve onto the plastic covered hospital bed, and flops down into a chair. I straiten Eve out, and then talk to the nurse.

"I'm gonna stay until she wakes up ok?"

"That's fine, dear. I'm just glad she's finally making friends. I was the nurse at the elementary school."

I go and sit on the edge of the bed, next to Eve. I needed to know why everyone hated this girl.
