I sit on the edge of my flat, hard bed, staring at my feet worrying about my new school. Timendra High, the school for mysticals is supposed to be for kids like me to practice their talents. They say "Timendra's where you meet the best of friends." but who would want to be friends with me? I mean I'm not a bad person or anything, but my magic gets ahead of my mind sometimes. The result is everyone being afraid of me, and not having any friends. I have a very rare, and scary magic, called telekinesis. I can make things move with my mind. People at school say I killed my parents using that force, but believe me I didn't! After that heart breaking thought, I wake up out of my daydream, and jump off my bed. "Where are my shoes?" I ask myself. "Ahh!I know!" I drop down to the floor, my brown hair skimming the cold hardwood. I reach under the bed and pull out a pair of brown leather flats and search through my empty jewelry box to find a single key pendant. After stringing it on a silver chain and placing it gently around my neck, I brush my hair and manage to slip back down to the hard floor. When I get up to my feet, my "mom" calls me downstairs to leave for my first day at School. When we reach Timendra High, I jump out of the carriage and stop. "Wow." I say quietly, as I gaze at the castle walls. I walk over to an apple tree, and sit in its shade. For a while I read, but my mind is going all over the place, thinking about anything and everything, unTil I hear a shout. My eyes follow the sound to the corner of the courtyard, where there is a fight going on, judging by the crowd surrounding the two girls. One girl I didn't recognize. She was tall, but she looked weak, with scrawny arms and dark brown frizzy hair. She didn't seem as though she wanted to fight, like she was forced into it. She was African-American, with eyes so dark a brown that they seemed black, yet there was friendliness in them. The other girl was the opposite. She was short, and blonde. She had hazel eyes, and skin as pale as the moon. She was wearing her hair in a fishtail today, and she had on the usual coombat boots. It was Claudia Selene. I knew she was a black magic witch, and that she meant business. When I walk up to the girls the crowd splits, letting me through. I watch the two girls for a second, but suddenly they stop, and the weak girl turns pale. I lift up my arms and my hair sticks up on end. Without thinking about what comes next, I send both witches flying backwards, the weak one landing in the arms of a willow tree and Claudia landing roughly on the gravel. I fall to the ground with a gasp and that at is pretty much all I can remember, until I wake up in the nurse's office on a soft, but crappy hospital bed. The two witches that were fighting earlier are here too. One is actually happy to see me.
"Hi, I'm AmberDawn, and that bum over there is Claudia, if you don't already know her. You can call me Amber." the weak witch says.
"Hi..." I say weakly. I can tell Claudia isn't too happy to see me, and to be honest I'm not too happy to see her either.
"Fun first day isn't it?" AmberDawn says, trying to bring some joy into the dim room. I force a laugh, so she doesn't feel bad, and she is happy with that response.
But then I rememberd what I had done to them earlier and blurted out, "Are you two okay? I am so sorry!" Just then Claudia jumps out of her chair, and walked out of the room. Amber Dawn grabbed my hand.
"It's okay." she says, her dark eyes gleaming as bright as the moon. "It'll all be okay."
