A/N: Wow.. So it's been four years huh? When I was writing this I was in highschool. Bruh it's honestly so weird to look back at my old writings. I mean I hope it's better now?? This draft has been left on here since March 2016 so I guess it's time to pick this up again? Honestly I'm not changing the first part of the story as I have no clue how to rewrite it without getting lost so oh boy here we go.

Edit on A/N: Wow I don't remember ANYTHING about this show so already I have Guren, Shinya, and Yu's wiki's pulled up and I forgot there's like a billion novels and so much backstory ahhhh. So if I got stuff wrong (because I'm almost positive I did) please let me know and I'll edit it!!

Guren rose his sword and slashed down on the vampire without a care. His gaze was directed at a different vampire anyway. They stood in proud, white clothes that were rimmed with gold, and it made them stand out clearly from the rest.

Nobles.. Great.

His lip curled slightly as he faced it. Gripping his sword hard he launched himself forward with a strong battle cry. Everything stopped however when he heard a small cry.

His head slowly turned and his eyes widened and his airway closed itself. He saw a young child in the grasp of a vampire. Not just any child however.

"Yu!" He shouted as he launched himself forward, ready to slice the vampire apart. The one that had Yu in his clutches smirked at him and dodged out of it's way and by the time Guren blinked, the immortal was further away and lifting Yu to his mouth. Growling in rage, Guren called upon his sword, trying to do anything to free Yu before the unspeakable would happen.

"Wait." A voice rang out and Guren switched his gaze to another noble approaching the scene, having an almost bored look upon him. 

"We don't have time to mess around. Bring that kid if you want. He can be a snack for the journey." The noble holding Yu nodded, both seemingly ignoring Guren. 

"You can't take him!" Guren shouted in rage. He wasn't sure how any of this had happened in the first place, but it all went wrong at once. His team and a few other soldiers had gone out on  survey, searching the area before they were ambushed. One thing led to another and it appears that Yu had secretly tagged along. When he got the boy back there would be intense punishment served to the brat, but first he needed to get the damn kid back.

Helplessly, he watched the vampires quickly take their leave, heading to a chopper to take off to their next location. He quickly took a look and spotted his trusted friend, Shinya. 

"Shinya! Take aim!" He shouted at the white haired male who casted him a confused look.

"Won't that-" 

"Not now Shinya!" Guren growled and Shinya, trusting his general aimed his weapon at the cargo-bob flying away. 

"Bang." He winked at Guren for a second before a low growling started. The commander was well aware of Shinya's demon and Byakomaru shot from his gun straight at the retreating object. Silence reigned down on them all as the cargo-bob at first awkwardly seemed to continue moving forward until smoke exploded from the front and it began to head downwards. 

Guren knew deep in himself that Yu wouldn't die from this. That the kid wasn't normal and he could take a hard beating, but his mind still ran a million thoughts at once of uncovering Yu's broken body once the smoke cleared. 

The plane crashed solidly into the ground and before Guren knew what he was doing he was racing straight towards the flames. He didn't care about the nobles and other bloodsuckers that would be around. He had to find Yu. 

By the time he reached the flames he could hear shouts and fighting in the background but they all became white noise until he saw a black blur from the very corner of his peripheral and he whirled around with his sword drawn at once. While his heart calmed a bit that he saw Yuichiro mostly unharmed, his gut clenched when he saw the noble with a harsh grip on the boy's shoulder. 

"This boy mean something to you?" The noble asked with a dark smirk towards the dark haired male who forced himself to relax a little. He knew he could never show vampires his weakness.

"Hardly. He owes me lunch for the next two weeks." He grimaced, refusing to look at Hyakuya now and instead stared down the vamp. 

"Hmm I think he does as well." Was all that was said before the bloodsucker moved his mouth towards Yu's throat.

At that moment all Guren saw was red. He immediately demanded Mahiru-no-yo to give him power, who complies and once his vision begins to fade back to normal, all he hears is his heavy breathing and all he sees is Yu laying on the ground, looking traumatized straight at him.

Glancing at his sword, he sees the blood on it but no body was visible. He could sense the rest of his squad behind him recollecting themselves and he straightened himself, and sheathed his sword quickly. 

Pushing his sweaty hair back, he walked up to Yu and held his hand out for the younger to take.

As soon as Yu was standing however, Guren smacked him upside the head, who complained loudly and angrily at Guren.

"Dumbass what the hell were you thinking getting caught by a noble." Guren snapped at him who glared back evenly. Guren bemusedly thought the look was familiar of his own.

"You think I wanted that to happen?! Whatever let's just go home." Yu huffed, looking exhausted all of a sudden, as if the adrenaline finally wore off and the last argument really took care of the rest of his energy. 

The older watched him take a few wobbly steps and he tsked quietly before sweeping up and picking him up.

"What are you doing?! Put me down I can walk just fine!" Yuichiro practically screeched at him but Guren ignored him.

"We'll get home faster if we aren't waiting on your useless pace. Now shut it." Guren grated out before he began to walk quickly past the others who watched gobsmacked. 

A presence appeared beside him and heard a slight chuckle.

"What?"

"Oh Guren, I never saw you as the father type until now. So cute~!" Shinya exclaimed before dodging a high kick from his friend.

"Shut up."
