Seekers: The New Journey

Chapter 4(Sliv)

Silv walked along the ice for what seemed like days. The sun shone overhead, her pelt felt like it was ice melting. She sighed as she padded along, the ice was more slippery than ever, and the sun was never this hot. Her mother had told her about burn-sky, was it coming now? She looked behind her, she saw in the distance, a large white bear digging a hole, That must be my mother.. she thought, frowning. She was just a speck in the horizon now. She sighed and carried on.

After a few more minutes of walking, she saw a small hole in the ice, she gasped. A seal hole! She ran, but then remembered what her mother said. She paused and stalked over to it, then sat at the edge waiting.

She waited for about 10 minutes, she was about to give up, when a seal jumped out the hole. She reacted quickly, jumping and swiping at it with her claws. She got it, then bit its neck and dragged it onto the thin ice. She smiled with satisfaction and began to eat like a hungry grizzly. Then, she felt the pressure of pawsteps under her, she looked up, seeing a large male white bear over her, growling.

"Scram! This seal is mine now!" He growled, teeth bared and eyes narrowed. Another female bear came up behind him.

"Oh come on, Uccidere, She's just a cub.. Let her have her meal." She said sweetly, smiling at Silv.

"No! We've gone without food for 3 days, Salvare! Seal holes arn't common anymore." Uccidere looked at Salvare, then back to Silv and the half-eaten seal.

"Well, I'm not giving it to you!" Silv growled, putting her paw on the seal like it was her own cub. Uccidere glared at her with dark blue eyes.

"Listen cherry bear, I could take it out with one swipe of my paw!" He yelled, scanning Silv, possibly looking for her weak spots.

"Is that a challenge?! and my name is Silv for your information!" She yelled back, getting to her paws, shoving the seal aside.

Uccidere laughed and smiled, showing his teeth, "You're a brave one! But you cant fight me!"

"Sure I can!" She challenged, staring him in the face. She glared at him, her claws unsheathed.

"Then.. Try!" He yelled at her. Showing his teeth. Silv took a deep breath, and she closed her eyes.

"Fine" Her eyes flew open as she jumped on top of Uccidere. Slicing at his shoulders violently. Uccidere growled and tried to shake her off, Silv held on tight, digging her claws into the bear's sides. She then bit his neck, but Uccidere pushed her off with one violent push. Salvare watched the fight with wide-eyes, she couldn't stop it now. Uccidere jumped onto Silv, almost crushing her. She growled and wriggled her way out, she snarled and faced Uccidere. Ha! A cub is beating him! She teased inside her head. Uccidera snarled also, running at her and smashing into her, knocking her across the ice. She had flown so far that she slid into the ocean beneath the ice. She saw the sky above her slowly fade away as she went deeper into the water. She could hear the faint laughs of Uccidere, and could hear the yelling of Salvare, probably yelling at Uccidere for drowning Silv. Her eyes slowly shut and she drifted in the water.
