The sun hit Silv in the face as she woke up. She yawned and stretched her paws, which was hard in the cramped space, a small sunbeam kept blinding her for heartbeat. The blizzard that had happened that night must have punched a few holes in the den. Silv's brother lay next to her mother, Ghiaccio, he had been sick since he was born. It was irritating, her mother only cared for him and not her... She sighed and prodded her mother with a claw. She had grown claws earlier than any other cub, which she was pretty proud of. Ghiaccio grunted and opened her eyes, looking at Silv.
"What is it?!" SHe said in an annoyed tone. Lifting her head.
"Uh.. Its morning- And its early so we can go hunt some seals now-" She said, scared her mother would yell at her. Ghiaccio sighed and nudged her son, Acqua. Then, when he woke up she whispered something to him Silv couldn't hear. She then got up and yawned, padding to one side of the den and digging the snow to make a hole that they could go through. After her mother was finished, she followed her out, then she went back in the den to grab Acqua, holding him by the scruff then setting him down on the snow. He grunted and looked up.
"I don't wanna waaaaaaalk" He whined. His arms and legs were almost like branches they were so weak. Silv grumbled. Ghiaccio bent down and let him crawl on her back.
Then, They began to walk across the ice. It was still snowing a slight bit, but not hard so they couldn't see. Silv looked at her helpless brother and growled under breath, who knows, he could faking it. Ghiaccio then froze as she spotted a large seal hole in front of them, she then ran over to it, stopping halfway to set Acqua, she growled at Silv to sit down, then padded to the seal hole and waited patiently for a seal to bop his head out.
Silv sat next to her brother who was shaking in the cold, He's not a brown or black bear, How can he be cold?!, She growled then watched her mother with sharp eyes. The sat so patiently and still, Silv looked back at her brother, it looked like he was about to die because he was shaking so much.
"Your not a brown or black bear! Grow up!" She yelled, her brother covered his ears with his paws as if her yell had hurt his ears. Ghiaccio looked up and growled at her with sharp teeth.
"You just scared away our only meal!" She stomped over and glared at Silv. "Why cant you be quiet and obedient like your brother?!" She growled.
"Obedient? You mean weak!" She growled back, Acqua looked at Silv with small eyes. Silv growled at him and he backed up, letting out a small whimper.
"That is enough! Thanks to you we'll be hungry for another day!" She yelled with rage in her eyes, teeth still bared as if she was going to enter a large fight. Silv rolled her eyes.
"I guess i'm the only strong one in this family! I can last." She glared at her mother aswell, if there was a fight, she'd be ready.
Ghiaccio then looked away, nudging Acqua and letting him get on her back once more. Silv growled as her mother started to treck across the ice. Silv then followed with her head down.
After a long while of walking ,they finally found a place to make a good den. Ghiaccio then began to dig it out, the snow was stiff and stale, which was good, but hard to hollow out. Acqua lay next to Silv, his breath was slow, She did still care about her brother, but she didnt think her mother thought so. Her then coughed as if he were choking on something, then he calmed down and Silv sighed, flopping onto the ice.
After a while, Ghiaccio finally finished hollowing out the den, she smiled at Acqua and helped him inside before she entered, she looked back at Silv and glared at her.
"This is the last time you going to sleep with us..." She said growling. Silv frowned and slowly followed her mother inside. She lay down next to Acqua as Ghiaccio covered the hole that they came in through with snow, batting it down so it would stay. She made her way over to her subs and let Acqua sleep next to her, but she turned her back on Silv. Some sadness filled Silv's eyes, she sighed and lay down. She thought for a few moments, then slowly fell asleep.
Silv woke up in a large forest, filled with lush green trees and animals scurrying everywhere. She had never seen this stuff before, she was amazed! She began to walk around with her mouth open, until she heard a loud BANG! She jumped as she looked behind her, stange, tall, creatures came out the bushes with long metal sticks. The creatures didnt have fur and stood on two-legs. The metal stick was pointing right at her, should she be worried? She stared at the creature with wide-eyes, slowly getting closer. The creature reacted after Silv was about half a bear-length away, then a large bang came from the metal stick, then a small black pellet came shooting at her, hitting her in the chest in a heartbeat.
Silv woke up with a start, breathing heavily. She lifted her head and looked at her mother, who was now facing her with Acqua right next to her. Something was wrong, She looked at Acqua carefully, His small legs were limp and she couldn't see his skinny body rising and falling. She started to worry, she leaned in closer to him and whispered to him.
"Hey, Hey! You kinda need to wake up now, We can go play... Or mom could show up out to hunt!" She stared at her brother, waiting for his ears to twitch, but they didn't. Silv got up and began to breath harder, she was scared now. She placed her paw on his side, he wasn't breathing. He must have.. died... of his sickness that night... Tears filled her eyes but she wiped them away, she looked at her mother, wanting to wake her up. No, Or i'll be blamed for this... She lay back down and silently waited for her mother to wake.
After a while, Ghiaccio stirred, grunting, she slowly woke up. Silv lifted her head, trying to pretend her mother's stirring had woken her up. She fake yawned as Ghiaccio prodded Acqua.
"Wake up... We will hunt soon." She said sweetly, waiting for Acqua to get up. After at least a minute of him not getting up, Ghiaccio shook him slowly, but he didn't move. She shook him harder, he was motionless. Silv watched with terror and sadness in her eyes, then she saw her mother had tears in her eyes. "No.. I can't lose another!" She cried laying down next to her son, licking his cold head gently, silently crying. Silv just watched silently, then she nudged in closer to lay with her brother aswell, until Ghiaccio pushed her away, "NO! GO AWAY! YOU NEVER CARED FOR HIM, SO WHY SHOULD YOU HELP WITH HIS BURIAL AND GREIVE WITH ME?" She yelled, her teeth bared and she growled louder than Silv had ever heard her growl before. Silv's eyes filled with tears and she barged out of the den, and ran off, tears falling out of her eyes like icicles on a sunny day. Her mother had rejected her, and her brother was dead, what was she going to do now?
