Chapter 27 - Bonfire part II

Wes POV

"- and that's why my skin was green for two weeks." Melina finishes her story giving us another fit of laughter.  Keaton is on the ground laughing his head off, Drew is clutching his sides and wiping away tears.

"Priceless!! That's the best one!! I have to give it to your brother, he, he is a legend of pranks." Drew manages to say between his laughs.

"Well at the time it wasn't very funny. How'd you feel if everyone called you Hulk's bastard for a year." Melina sulks. This makes everyone more hysteric, even Drew falls to the ground from the log.

I try to hold it together and whisper in her ear. "I'm sure you made a very sexy Hulk's daughter."

Melina turns to glare at me, she is about to open her mouth but her phone starts to ring. She gets up quickly and walks away from us. "Hey Mike." Melina chirps, her mood changing completely. I immediately stop laughing and tense up, Mike. Why does she always get so excited when he calls?

"-ok bye!" Melina smiles happily when she walks back to us after ending the call. She sits back on my lap and focuses on what the guys are talking about. I frown, she isn't going to say what the call was that about?

"So what did Mike want?" I try to ask without my voice getting tense.

She shrugs her shoulders. "Just wanted to see if I'm free tomorrow so I'm meeting him in the afternoon."

"Awesome." I reply unenthusiastically. Melina turns and furrows her eyebrows, she opens her mouth but closes it right after. She studies my face before turning back to join the conversation the guys are having.

Did she guess my thoughts?! No, not possible. I know she'll kick my ass if I started acting jealous of her, last time I did that she ended up getting attacked. Aaarghh I just don't know why I still feel this stupid jealousy about Mike?! But how can I not? She always lights up when he calls her or they meet.

Fuuuck!! Stop it. Wes, she is with you, she loves you and you are just being paranoid. God, I've turned into such a chick. How about growing some balls and focusing on having a good time tonight instead of being a dick?

I look over at Drew and Keaton who are teasing Melina about something. She pretends to be angry by crossing her arms over her chest but I can see her holding back a smile. I really am an idiot, why waste time in being jealous when I can have an awesome time with my friends and Melina? Yea that's what I need to focus on.

Later I see Drew trying to signal me something when Melina isn't looking. I soon catch up and nod in agreement.

"Melina let's walk for a bit, I could stretch my legs." I try to push her off from my lap.

"Oh am I too heavy for you there?" She begins to jump on me.

I hold my breath and  try to sound like I'm in pain. "Yep!"

That makes her get up, she crosses her hands over her chest before looking down at me. "Oh thanks a lot. Well you have to deal with it since I ain't losing any weight!"

I get up and slap her on the ass. "Good since you are perfect. Come on."

She huffs but tries to hide her smile. I intertwine our fingers and walk her towards the waterline. "Thanks for bringing me along to the bonfire." Melina says sincerely. I stop and pull her in my arms, "I wouldn't have it any other way and thank you for sharing those songs with me, it really meant a lot." I peck her lips.

"But Melina, I'm sorry for this." I look at her apologetically after pulling apart.

She furrows her eyebrows looking puzzled.  "Sorry for what?"
