Cathy's POV
I woke up. I looked around. I was on my bed. But how? I slowly stood up. I heard the alarm. I put on my combat boots and rushed to get out. I listened to the robotic voice talking over the intercom.
"Prisoner escape!" It kept repeating.
I hurried towards the prison. I collided with Zoey.
"Sorry!" I said quickly.
"Glad you're okay. We need all the help we can get!" Zoey told me. "We believe they already left the building. We have Spies scanning the area." She explained quickly.
I nodded. "So what do we do?" I asked.
"Wait by the entrances and exits." Zoey said simply.
I nodded. Zoey walked with me down the halls. We secured all the rooms. Zoey and I met Lindsey in the training hall.
"They are definitely not in here, ma'am. All remaining prisoners are locked up and secure." Zoey saluted.
I saluted also.
"Thank you." Lindsey put her hand on her forehead.
"You alright?" I asked.
"I'm fine I just have a headache." Lindsey looked at me.
I glanced at Zoey. Zoey also looked concerned.
"Any word from the Spies outside?" Lindsey asked.
"No ma'am." Zoey answered.
Lindsey nodded.
"Do you need aspirin?" Zoey asked.
"Please?" Lindsey looked at Zoey.
Zoey nodded. She motioned for me to stay as she walked away. I looked at Lindsey. She was rubbing her forehead. I wasn't sure if I hoped they caught Seth or not. If they did, I can see him more. If they didn't, he'd be safe and free. But he'd no doubt help attack us. But in here he's trapped. I snapped out of my thoughts as Zoey returned. She gave Lindsey water and aspirin. Lindsey took the aspirin and drank the water.
"Need anything else?" Zoey asked.
"Rest." Lindsey walked past us. "You're in charge, Zoey." She called over her shoulder.
We watched her leave. I looked at Zoey, awaiting orders.
"Anything to report?" She spoke into her watch.
"Negative." I recognized Patrick's voice.
"Nothing seen." Another agent said.
"I found the boss." Roger said suddenly.
"What's your position?" Zoey asked.
"I'm headed back to the agency now. He's in my back seat hand cuffed. Meet me out front." Roger said.
"Okay." Zoey lowered her arm. "Come on." She looked at me.
I nodded. We both ran to the front entrance. Zoey opened the door. Roger's SUV pulled up. Perfect timing. Roger stepped out and hurried to the back door. He dragged the boss out. I looked at Zoey. Her face was blank. The boss met Zoey's gaze.
"Zoey?" I stared at her.
She shook her head and looked at me.
"What are we gonna do with him?" Roger asked.
"Take him to the prison. Lock him up right. We don't want him getting away." Zoey stared at the boss.
"Still hurts you, huh?" The boss stared at Zoey.
"Shut up!" Zoey clenched her teeth.
"I can see the pain in your eyes. You realized you joined the wrong side. It isn't too late. You can still join us." The boss grinned slightly.
"I SAID SHUT UP! Roger, take him in. Come on, Cathy." Zoey walked inside.
I followed her. What was the boss talking about? Zoey brought her wrist close to her face to speak.
"Any sign of the escaped inmates?" She asked.
"I got the girl." Patrick responded.
"Bring her in." Zoey lowered her arm.
"What was up with The Boss?" I asked.
"Never fall in love with a Radical." Zoey stared at her watch as she spoke.
"You fell in love with him?" I looked shocked. "What happened?"
"Word got out. The Radicals tried killing me." Zoey lowered her wrist.
"He felt the same for you?" I asked.
"Yes. That's why he let me go. Neither of us have moved on. He may seem like he did but I know he's not over it." Zoey looked at me.
"How long ago was this ?"I asked.
"A few months ago." She told me. "But don't tell anyone. None of the Spies knew. Only the Radicals."
I nodded slightly. Patrick walked in holding Crystal's hands behind her back. Crystal was trying to pull free. Zoey quickly approached them. I stayed where I was. Zoey had gone through the same situation I'm going through and she trusted me enough to tell me. I looked at Crystal. Seth was still out there. Patrick dragged Crystal to the prison. Zoey was on her watch again. I went to where they kept the keys of the cars. I took a key and ran to the garage, nearly crashing into a nurse that was exiting Lindsey's room. I froze. I looked at the nurse.
"Everything okay?" I asked her.
"Where's Zoey?" The nurse asked.
"By the cafeteria. What's going on?" I asked.
"Go get Zoey. I'll explain it to you both." The nurse told me.
I slipped the keys into my pocket as I ran to get Zoey. She wasn't where I left her. I looked around. I went to the prison. Patrick was there.
"Have you seen Zoey?" I asked.
"Third door to your left." He told me.
I nodded and hurried to the door. I opened it. Zoey was making out with the boss. She was sitting on his lap with her hands on his face. The boss had his hands on her waist. I cleared my throat. They pulled away quickly. Zoey looked at me.
"Cathy! You scared me!" Zoey stood up.
"The nurse needs to see you in Lindsey's room." I told her.
Zoey nodded. We both walked out of the room. Zoey made sure the door was locked up. We both jogged to Lindsey's room. The nurse was waiting.
"What's going on?" Zoey asked.
"She's been poisoned." The nurse told us.
Zoey and I looked at each other then back at the nurse. Both of our expressions the same; shock.
"She's not gonna make it. She said you lead, now, Zoey." The nurse said.
"I-I wanna see her." Zoey stuttered.
The nurse nodded. She led us to Lindsey's bed. I covered my mouth. Lindsey looked green. Sweat droplets were formed on her forehead. She groaned slightly. I looked at Zoey. Zoey looked sad.
"I'll do everything I can to get the people who did this to you." Zoey told Lindsey.
"Radicals." Lindsey said simply.
"We already have the people that did this to her." I looked at Zoey.
"Then we will make them suffer." Zoey's eyes narrowed.
