Just as Xey and I got close, our parents were good friends too. I didn't know they were collegues, well that was a shocker. They've been giving each other good company and for the fact that Xey's dad and my dad were good friends since high school, my dad and Xey's mom were old friends. It was the last day at camp and it was the same old routine, everyone would sit around the fire and play games but the last nights were the best, we'd have George give a speech and give each kid in the camp a candy and make them feel good. Finally we would have old country music and everyone dancing. Our family had a good lot of dancers, My dad was the best and every last camp night he'd dance with everyone. He'd drag me along and then i wouldn't leave, I always had starting problems. But once i got into it i didn't leave, i'd stay on the spot and dance even when everyone's sleeping in their tents, until the fire broke into ashes, until it felt chilly and until i wanted to close my eyes on someone chest. I'd still be humming the music. I know I know, I am a big time musicholic and i love dancing. Its been in our family for generations now.
It was the same this time but like usual George called me up and gave a candy too. i think he wouldn't stop, He said some good words of an old man's heart and said, "Lets get the party started." Who didn't love George? He was the best fun, he made you laugh and his joke's were as fresh as it could get. You'd never get old of him, He falls sick often these days; it scares me as to what would happen to community camp if he leaves us. Putting that aside everyone got up from their bottoms putting a big bucket of happiness smile and joining the crowd to dance. It was amazing just sitting there watching everyone dance and giggle, especially the little kids, they'd do the twisting of hands and all bizare things and giggle. You could just see it in their laughter they wouldn't want to leave camp. Xey was next to smiling at the whole thing showing he enjoyed his view.
"Why don't you dance? You are amazing at dancing, I've seen you at school."
"Awh! Thanks, i just like watching these people. it makes me happy."
It makes me happy? happy? really, that's the best i could come up with? why was i so stupid and dumb?
"Wanna dance with me?"
WOW! Xey wanted to dance? I mean, it was Xey. He was just shy and he wouldn't even talk to me a week ago and now he wants to dance.
"You dance?" i said, i said raising my eyebrows with a smile.
"No. I know i don't look like a person who'd dance but once i get into the flow of it i dance like a mad guy."
I giggled with a huge surprised smile.
"So you coming or what?" He said standing up lending his hand to me.
"Of course."
We moved along the crowd dancing our way through, making sure just to stand behind my dad.
"xey, You got my daughter to dance? She'd never dance until i dragged her along."
We both giggled and Xey said, "Yes sir. You must be proud."
"I sure am son." he said with a gentle smile.
It wasn't long before everyone had slowly left the centre and moved on to sleeping in their tents. There were just beer bottles and cups lying around. Nothing had changed from what i remember except Xey's presence. Everyother it'd just be me alone, dancing, humming my own music but this time he was there humming the same song and moving his feet just like mine. I think just holding his hand and doing the old jazz gave a special effect to the night. It was more than just amazing, it felt good, more than good I could say. You could see it in his eyes, the sparkle and twinkle in his smile. He was a pretty good dancer for a gamer, he had his feet follow me all the way long; almost seemed like he knew what I'd do the next minute.
