"Susan, pay attention, honey", my father said. I was uncomfortably moving back and forth in my chair.
I sighed. "Phase one: birth and the two years after. Phase two: growing up until you're 17. When you reach 18 you get a test. When you pass it you get to phase three: the lightning." I saw my father wanted to ask what the lightning exactly was, but curiosity won it from me.
"How come that you and mom didn't pass the test?"
"I can't tell you, you have to experience it yourself."
