I woke up feeling exhausted and depressed. I looked at my poster on the wall. Then did a double take. It wasn't blurry. My vision was returning. I sighed in relief. "Hello Maya." Greeted my mother. "You have a doctor's appointment in one hour. Start getting ready." I jumped out of bed excited. I thought that since my vision was coming back I'd be able to go back to school. I got dressed, brushed my teeth, put on some light makeup, and brushed my hair. I went downstairs to have some breakfast. As I made my downstairs my family were in tears. "What happened?" I asked nervously. My mother walked over to me and said "We got a call from the vet. Gangster died in the middle of his surgery." My eyes welled up with tears. My mother pulled me into a hug and sobbed into her shoulder. Gangster was one of my best friends. I couldn't bear this news. I ran back upstairs and sobbed loudly into my pillow. My makeup smudged a little but I didn't care. I just got my little Gangster and now I'll never ever see that sweet little furry face again. I got out my photo album and look at the picture of me and Gangster when I first go him. I remembered how small and derpy he was. And whenever you scratched behind his ear his little foot would shake. My father called me down and reminded me that I had a doctor's appointment now. I walked downstairs put on my shoes and grabbed a light sweater. I walked outside and into the car. I slammed the door with a lot of force. I tried not to cry because I didn't want my doctor to ask.

When we arrived I saw a little German Shepherd who reminded me of Gangster. I almost bursted into tears. But my father nudged me which ment I had to go in. My father signed me in and I walked down the red and white hallway and into his office. "Why hello Maya. Your mother called and said that your vision is returning"
"Y-yes I've been doing better." "Okay, I'm only going to run a few tests to make sure your eyesight will heal in less than a week." I smiled and my eyes widened in joy. He took the eyesight testing thingy and made me look through it. He made me read letters from close up and far away. When I couldn't see the letters that were far away, my doctor looked concerned. Then he said "If you still can't se far away, then give me a call." "Okay."
