When my doctor told me to call him if I still couldn't see far away. I wanted to call him but I didn't know what would happen. Eventually I had enough courage to. "Um Dr. Ian? I've still been having trouble with my vision." "Okay, well I can schedule and appointment for 3:30." "Okay" I responded nervously not knowing what will come. I went downstairs to tell my mother that I scheduled and appointment with Dr. Ian. She nodded in approval.
When the clock read 3:25 I asked my mother to drive me to the office. When I got there my doctor was waiting for me with a 'not so happy' expression. "I have good news and bad news. Which first?" "I could really use some good news right now." I pleaded. "Well then, good news is that your should be somewhat healed now." Oh thank goodness. I thought. "W-well then, what's the bad news?" "Your vision isn't 100% healed." I looked at him with complete shock. "What do you mean?" "I mean, you might need glasses." Well great that's just great. I want to return to my normal life but it's disrupted by me needing frigin glasses. He handed me a slip with and address. "What's this?" "It's the shop where you can pick up your glasses." I took the slip and walkef out of his office. The nurse at the front desk waved goodbye. I did the same. My mother asked what was wrong because I looked depressed. "I... NEED... GLASSES!" I yelled in complete frustration. She looked shocked. "But he said your vision healed. Did it not? " "APPARENTLY NOT!" She gestured for me to calm down. I couldn't. Out of everything in the world I should need, it's glasses. Out of a billion options GLASSES!
Later that night my mother drove me to the shop. I walked in and the lady at the front desk told me to wait because my glasses were still being fixed. Then a doctor walked in and told me to go over to a desk with various lens types. He ran a few tests to figure out which type were right for me. The lenses with a slight bulge were perfect. They prevented glare. He said that I have to only wear them for when I have to see far away.
I left the shop, drove back home and went upstairs to get ready for bed. My mother reminded me I had school tomorrow. She kissed me goodnight and left. I stayed up late thinking about what my friends would think. But I tried my best to just shrug it off and went to sleep.
