Since Carter and I came to school late, we had to go through the office to sign ourselves in and to get tardy passes before completely entering the school building to go to class.
We already missed about 20 minutes of the first period of the day and I didn't really see the point in going so I convinced Carter to go hangout in the library to pass the rest of the time. As we were walking down the hallway none other than the wonderful, oh great, Shelby. Just friggin fantastic. We casually kept walking, me secretly hoping she wouldn't make on of her snide remarks but of course, who is Shelby without her ignorant, rude, egoistic comments? No one, that's who.
" Awe. Look at the two love birds!" She exclaimed quite 'innocently'.
"Shut it, you dumb bimbo." I said trying not to let her comment give me butterflies, but it sounded so ugly coming out of her mouth. Carter looks towards me surprised by my reaction and I just shrug it off.
"Oh. Feisty are you?" Yeah, just a little.
She turns toward Carter with a sly grin set on her face, "Hey Carter." She greets him trying to sound seductive, key word trying.
God, shes thirsty. Like he doesn't want you hoe's! I don't know why I always entertain her foolishness, I really don't. We're seniors in high school, why does she act so damn childish? She really just grinds my gears.
"Hi." Carter nods a little toward She Devil showing no interest. Good job, baby. Baby? No. Stop.
I slightly kick Carter's foot to remind him we were in the process of going somewhere but before we could even escape the beast the intercom chimes on and a familiar voice booms through the empty halls. "Allison Stevens and Carter Stanley report to the principal's office immediately... Thank you." It cuts off.
Shelby doesn't even try to hold in her enjoyment at Carter and I's predicament."ohhh, someone's in troubleee!" She giggles.
"Really how old are you? 13?" I say in disbelief as Carter chuckles beside me. I grab ahold of his wrist and drag him away from her and to the office
Before we walk in Carter and I turn toward each other in encouragement and we both let out sighs as he hesitantly pushes the door open.

The principal gave us two options on what are punishment would be for skipping class, the first being a call home to parents, and the second being detention. We gladly picked detention. I know that if they were to call home my parents would be kind of lenient considering I don't get in much trouble at school but Carter looked absolutely terrified at the idea.
The evening bell chimed signaling the end of the school day. Making my way to my locker I spot Cass and Lyric waiting for me, like usual.
"Hey, girl, hey." Lyric sings engulfing me in a hug, Cass following suit.
"Hey guys," I say sighing. They look at me curiously. "I have detention for being late and skipping." I explain my dilemma.
"Oh, That sucks. Why were you late?" Cass asks. Her nosey behind.
"I had breakfast with Carter." I mutter trying to walk away quickly, but of course they just drag me back to them.
"You did what!?" Cass and Lyric say in unison.
Sighing I repeat myself once again. "I had breakfast with-"
"No. Stop. We heard you the first time." Lyric interrupted.
"Then why did you ask me to repeat what I said?" I say trying to switch the subject annoyed by there prodding.
" you know what, that's not even the point. You really like him, don't you?" She asks.
"I-I." I stammer.
"You do!" Yells Cass excitedly.
"Fine, yes, I like him!" I say admitting to myself more than I'm admitting to the pair.
"I mean we already knew, but it's nice to hear you admit to it." Lyric points out as Cass nods in agreement.
I do like him, don't ask me why I'm drawn to him, I just am. Despite the situation before he's nice and seems like a genuinely good person, point for him because not a complete jerk like his little friends.
Sometimes I wish I wasn't so easy to read, anytime I lie or get nervous about something Cass and Lyric can always tell, sometimes I wonder why I even bother.
Chuckling awkwardly I proceed to open my locker to put my school bag in its rightful place. The girls continue on with a conversation I'm choosing to have no part in when I feel one of them tap on my shoulder, I agitatedly continue to stuff my stuff in. "Listen, guys. I don't really have time to talk about it now nor do I want to, it just stresses me out," I say finishing up. "So, you guys have fun and I will see y'all on the flip side." I say whipping around to see a confused and smirking Carter. I step back in realization, no that there was much space to back into considering his close proximity, that it wasn't in fact one of my pesky friends.
Chuckling lightly he scratches the back of his neck and takes a step back as I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding. "I would ask what's wrong but you obviously don't want to talk about it and we have places to go." He says closing my locker door shut.
"Thanks, let's go." I say glad that he didn't hear what we were talking about but more specifically who we were talking about. As Carter and I walk down the hallway, once again, I glance back at my friends as Cass is making missy faces and Lyric is dry humping the air. They're so vulgar, but I fucking love them.
Trying to scare them to stop making those idiotic gestures I pretend that I'm slitting my throat and that just makes them laugh more and continue their antics. Carter looks at me confusedly and I just shrug it off.
