Castiel- Finally

He was watching as you and Dean cooked, you skillfully managing three different pans and one pot whilst also preparing chicken to go in the oven. Castiel observed how you dashed around the large kitchen, grabbing things as you went. He always marveled at how skilled of a cook you were, the few years at cullinary school paying off. You had been itching for a reason to cook something big, and when Sam suggested that you and his older brother fix up something to celebrate a successful hunt you jumped at the opportunity. You had missed cooking-since you'd become a hunter you didn't get to do it often- and despised the greasy, fattening, fast food you were forced to eat on the road. A treat for all of you was overdue.

Dean was helping you cook and, to your surprise, he was very good at it. He would give you his opinion on how to make certain things taste better and he was an excellent multitasker like you. Dean had forbidden Castiel from helping you two cook(something about Cas accidently starting a stove fire while attempting to cook a grilled cheese), but allowed him to watch in fascination the way you two worked around eachother. It was like a dance, really, one that Cas hoped to learn the steps to as time wore on. He wanted to be the one to cook with you one day, even though he couldn't enjoy the food along with you. After all, he was head-over-heels for you.

You and Cas, as Dean would say, had been making "goo goo eyes" at each other since you met. Frankly, it was starting to piss Dean off how oblivious and shy you two were around one another. I mean, the tension was starting to become too much for him. Dean looked over his shoulder at Cas. You bent over to put the chicken in the oven, and Dean saw Cas's eyes roam over your backside. The angel didn't know Dean was watching him, but Cas caught Dean out of the corner of his eye, and when he looked at the man he knew he was busted. Castiel blushed and cleared his throat. Dean raised an eyebrow and nodded his head toward you.

"Ask her out!" He mouthed toward his feathered friend. Cas looked embarrassed and shook his head in false confusion.

"I don't know what you are talking about." Castiel mouthed back as you pushed the oven door shut and sighed. It smelled wonderful in there. You checked the things on the stove and decided the veggies needed to be stirred. The spoon was, for some reason, on the other side of the stove from the pan of vegatables. You went to reach around the pot next to it, and managed to get too close to the scalding dish. The skin of your arm brushed the pot, burning you. You yelped a little and snatched your arm towards your body, hissing in pain. Castiel stood from his place against the wall in surprise.

"Ah, dammit." You cursed your stupidity and raced over to the sink. The burn wasn't too bad, but it was large. It would definitely blister. "Dean, watch what I have on the stove." You commanded.

"You alright? Burn yourself or something?" He asked as he did what you told him to, managing to pick up the spoon without burning himself.

"Yep." You answered, twisting the cold water knob and slowly placing your arm under the faucet. You winced, the cold water making your burn sensitive, but at the same time soothing the sting a little. A hand touched your shoulder, and you looked up to the body it belonged to. Cas was standing beside you, his eyebrows knitted in concern, baby blue eyes trained on you. You quickly noticed your proximity, and how endearing it was that he seemed concerned about you.

"You're injured." The angel pointed out. You smiled and shook your head a little.

"Just a burn, happens all the time. I'm a klutz." You laughed it off, but winced in pain again as you pulled your arm out from under the water. Examining it, Cas reached his hand out.

"May I?" He asked. When you nodded, he carefully took your arm in his hands. Castiel gently brought his lips down and brushed them against your burn, staring into your eyes as you blushed. The instant his skin touched the wound, it was gone. He had healed you completely. The angel smiled sweetly at you, and, flustered, you returned it. "I...uh...I learned that it's human custom to kiss the injury of someone you care about. Appearently, the desplay of affection heals any and all wounds." He smiled endearingly.

"Well, it certainly worked. Thank you Castiel." You leaned up and kissed his cheek. "I appreciate it." Cas had an adorable, blushing smile on his face. Behind you, Cas saw Dean violently motion to the two of you.

"DO IT NOW!" The hunter mouthed angrily. Castiel straightened up a little and cleared his throat.

"Um...(Y/N)? I'd like to ask you something." Dean flashed Cas a thumbs up before stirring the contents of the pot next to him.

"Yes?" You looked up at him eagerly. Your expression almost made the angel back down, but he pressed foward and had out with it.

"Would you...maybe...like to do...something with me sometime?" Dean nearly face-palmed. His friend was about as smooth as crunchy peanut butter.

"Something as in...a date?" You inquired, rubbing where the burn had been just moments before.

"Exactly. Yes, a date." Cas exhaled nervously, afraid of rejection. "Is that something you'd be interested in?" You smiled.

"Of course, Cas. I'd love to go on a date with you." Castiel was visibly relieved and he sighed. Dean, who was still over by the stove, couldn't hold his tongue any more.

"Jesus Christ, FINALLY!"
