(Marinette's POV)
Alya and Nino ran for cover outside as the Absorber sucked in a huge breath. As he did, a tornado formed from his mouth and took Nino's headphones and my textbook, along with a bunch of other things. "Well now I know why he's called the Absorber," I muttered. In his hand, he had a huge shield with a sandwich picture sculpted in. I ran into a nearby closet just as he let loose another tornado from his face. I opened my purse and Tikki flew out. "The akuma must be in his shield. I have to get it!" She gave me a worried look. "But how will you break the shield and release the akuma? It's probably made of something super strong!" she said. "We'll figure that out later. We always do," I chuckled nervously. I whipped my hair back and cried, "Tikki, spots on!"

(Adrien's POV)
Nino and Alya were safe outside the school, but Marinette was nowhere to be found. I hid behind a pillar, avoiding the Absorber's view, and watched him carefully. He seemed to be looking for something, or someone. Suddenly, I heard Chloe down the hall, shrieking her high pitched voice at her friend Sabrina. The Absorber suddenly smiled evilly and headed in Chloe's directions. I ran into an empty classroom and let Plagg out of my pocket. "Urgh, of course, its always Chloe! Does she ever learn not to be so rude to people?" I exclaimed. Plagg shrugged, "Beats me, she's your girlfriend." He giggled. "As if. Let's just get this done. Ladybug is probably already on her way." I punched my fist out. "Plagg, claws out!"

(Marinette's POV)
"My lady," I heard a sultry voice behind me. I turned to see my partner Chat Noir waltzing up to my hiding spot in the school roof. "Took you long enough. We've got a tough one today," I replied. "Yeah, I noticed. It also seems to be after that Chloe girl again," Chat said. I groaned. "Of course. Has he found her yet?" I asked, scowling. "He's got her pinned in the school library. After you," he gestured. I swung my yo-yo and together we headed in that direction.

We found the Absorber trying to consume the library doors, which thankfully were hanging on strong. "You know, Chat Noir," I stated loudly so the villain could hear, "I just love me a good bad guy to fight." He smiled, and we caught the Absorber's attention. "Yeah," Chat replied, "Makes me quite hungry." He glared in our direction and prepared a great inhale. As Chat Noir phased his distraction, I slipped around to catch the baddie from behind. Chat set his rod across his shoulders confidently and smirked his catty smile. "Glutony is one of the seven deadly sins, you know. You should check that." Enraged, the Absorber unleashed a violent torrent, which Chat counteracted with his staff. I took my chance and laced my yo-yo around the villains neck, jerking him backwards, releasing Chat Noir. I jumped onto his arm, and attempted to yank the shield away from him, but the strap held it firm. The Absorber smiled triumphantly, and grabbed me with his other hand. "Silly little bug, caught under the rain. Time to drown." He slammed me down on the floor and put his shield between me and him, and slowly pressed down. The air started leaving my lungs. Snap! Snap! I heard my ribs go. My vision started to blackened. Then Chat came out of nowhere, and slammed his staff straight at the villains face. The Absorber flew back, rubbed his face, and looked at Chat Noir in shock. Chat's eyes, usually a bright green, were now a murderous red. "You tried to hurt my lady," he half whispered, "Now I can rip you to pieces."
