Chapter 1: Finding out the Truth. (Part 1) I stare down at the grave tears slowly falling from my eyes, I'm not paying attention to anything that the minister is saying, because he doesn't understand. Sure he has done a lot a funerals, but he doesn't know the pain of losing the person closest to you in the world, he doesn't know the pain of having someone else take that persons life away, he doesn't know the pain of having seen that person less than twenty-four hours ago...
Twenty-Nine Hours Ago
"C'mon little sis! It's time to wake up!" My brother yells at the top his lungs, you see when I was thirteen my older brother Chad broke my alarm clock I am now sixteen and he has been waking me up like this ever since.
"Just five more hours." I beg, and yes I did mean to say hours. Sleep is really important!
"Nope! It's Friday! Friday! We gotta' get down on Friday!"
"You are a really horrible singer!"
"And you are a lazy ass, who won't get out of bed and go to school on a Friday!'
"But, it's six in the morning!"
"You always wake up at six in the morning, and we always have this same argument at six in the morning. Now get your lazy, fat ass out of bed and downstairs or else no pancakes for you!" Chad then walks out of my bedroom and I hop out of bed, there is no way in hell that I am going to let my rude, snotty and immature older brother eat my pancakes!
After getting ready for school I race downstairs and in to the kitchen to see that I have to pancakes with butter and syrup stacked on my plate,I immediately sit down and start eating. Then I hear a chuckle,
"What?" I ask Chad, with my mouth full of pancakes.
"I was going to tell you to hurry up or we would be late for school, but I forgot how fast you eat pancakes." Chad laughs. Chad is a Senior at Domester high school and I am a sophomore, we are both straight A students and are very popular. I am a cheerleader and Chad is a football player, we both have the same group of friends but we don't really mind, Chad and I are really close. I would do anything for him and he would do anything for me. We have amazing parents, they both own a really big business company that I don't know the name of. But our parents will always have time for us.
"C'mon slow poke, or else we will be late and get detention." Chad teases. That gets me moving, I have a perfect attendance record, I have never been late for school without an excused absences and I have never ever had detention. That's where kids like Carter Williams go and I do not want to be associated with him at all! So I guess you can call me a goody-goody, or a teachers pet or whatever, but trust me on this one Carter Williams is bad news and I will be perfectly happy if I never speak to him in my life.
Chad and I get into his 2013 Ford Focus. He gets into the driver side and I get into the passengers side, and then I do my regular routine. I stare at Chad, I know it's creepy but lots of girls at school say he is really hot and I just don't see it, but then again I am his sister. Chad has a nice tan skin colour, he has short dirty blond hair, he is 6'4, he has broad shoulders and a broad chest and has a deep voice. People always say that I'm pretty to,but I don't see that either, I have a nice tan skin colour, but unlike my brother I have dark brown hair, I am also very short and I still wear an A cup bra, I have never had a boyfriend, I have never kissed anyone, and I have most definitely not done the nasty! My brother is another story, my brother is the schools second biggest player, after Carter Williams of course. My brother has a new girlfriend every month, I have seen him kiss girls on the lips, and much to my disliking, I have heard people talk about how good he is in bed. I have also heard people say that Carter Williams is better in bed. Carter has a new girlfriend every week, the difference between Carter Williams and Chad, is that I think Chad cares, he takes his girls out on dates and makes and effort but, after he sleeps with them he says that they don't seem like the same person and breaks up with them so I guess you can say that he just hasn't found the right girl. Carter Williams is a heart breaker, always has been always will be, simple as that. He doesn't care about anyone but himself, and like I said before I do not want to get involved with him. I hope that I-
"You coming Mace? Everyone's waiting." Chad asks, concern laced in his voice.
"Ya, I was just thinking." I reply as I'm getting out of the car and make my way over to our group of friends. My best friend, after my brother is a guy named Jace, and if you asked, yes Jace is gay. But he's one of the best people you will ever meet.
"C'mon Macy, you are almost late and we have an AP English class to get to!" Jace says in a sing-song voice. Jace and I walk to English together and on our way there we see no other but Carter Williams, sucking the face off some girl. Some of his friends wolf whistle, while I just roll my eyes then avert my gaze straight ahead of me and make my way to English.
All of my morning classes went by pretty fast and before I know it it's lunch, I go to sit at my regular lunch table when I notice that Chad isn't there. I look around and see him, I'm just about to go up to him when I see that he is talking to Carter Williams. I freeze and try to read there lips, then Carter starts yelling at Chad. He starts yelling at my brother and no one is allowed to yell at my brother! So I muster up all my courage and walk up to Chad and Carter.
Carter sees me first and he stops talking, looks me over and then turns back to Chad,
"Is this her?" Carter asks my brother.
"Carter leave her alone, she doesn't even know about this!" Chad yells, then I get curious and open my big my mouth and ask,
"Know about what?"
"You haven't told her yet? God I'm disappointed in you Chadey." Carter says with a smirk plastered on his face.
"She's to young." My brother replies,
"I'm the same age as her Chad." Carter says the smirk slowly leaving his face, just as I thought that the smirk was gone he turns towards me and it reappears.
"I'm Carter Williams, nice to finally meet you Macy." Carter says in a very gentlemen like voice.
"What hasn't he told me?" I ask Carter.
"Well," Carter slowly drags the word out, "Since Chad won't tell you, I will. You deserve to know what your brothers doing when he's not at home. You see Macy dear, your brother is involved with a gang. The gang that my older sibling used to be the leader of."
