Chapter 2:
*******************************************************************************************
How did she know her?
How did she know her name?
Changing the subject Veronica replied; "Um, no sorry you have the wrong person".
"I'd know that face anywhere" the receptionist replied.
Veronica knew the receptionist from a young age although denied remembering her.
"Look, I'm not interested in your mind games. I've had a long day and I came in here for a room so can I please just have one?" Veronica said raising the tone of her voice.
"I'm not playing mind games with you and you know it!" the receptionist replied. "Room 9. Last room on your left".
Veronica took the key out of the lady's hand and walked to her room where she was hoping she would get a good nights sleep and somehow in the morning, all her troubles would be gone...
She opened the door to her room, dropped her things and without thinking, ran to the bed and screamed into her pillow. All she had been thinking about was how she killed her husband and reminding herself of the look on her husband's face when the bullet pierced through his chest.
The one thing that she hadn't thought about was how this situation had come so far and where it had started.
It all started 10 years ago when Veronica and her husband had just got married and had their first child Eliza. Seems like the typical love story right? Not until one day Veronica came home from work and found her baby daughter bleeding to death in her room with cuts all over her body. She checked Eliza's heart and it wasn't beating. Veronica's heart stopped too. She couldn't believe who would do such a thing... After a police investigation, her husband was under arrest as the main suspect of his daughter's death, a court date was scheduled and it was confirmed that he was guilty. Veronica was disgusted that she married a man of that nature. He was sentenced to 1o years in gaol and there is not one day that goes by that Veronica doesn't think about her daughter... Today was the day Veronica had been preparing for. She knew her husband would be let out of gaol so she got hold of a gun and planned his death ever so easily. She never thought it would effect her so badly when she pulled the trigger but it was revenge she had to give to the man who had taken away her baby girl, forever.
