KATIANA'S POV
"We're going to miss you two," Jeremy rumbled as he helped Ben sort through his new school things.
I smiled at him. "I'm going to miss you guys too." I indeed was shocked that I had enjoyed myself with them in the past week, given the fact that Samson woke us up early every morining- he had figured out how to climb out of his crib.
There was still something that I had to ask, though, but I didn't know how. "Um, Jeremy?"
He looked at me and raised his eyebrows, so I continued. "Is there... is there still a house at the top of that hill?"
"Oh, yes. But it's going to be torn down in a month, apparently they are going to resell the property." Jeremy went back to helping Ben.
Tear it down? I felt myself frown at the thought. They can't do that, it's MY house. I lived there.
I stood up so suddenly that Ben started. He stared at me from under his round glasses that resembled Harry Potter's. In fact, Ben himself looked like Harry Potter.
"Sorry, Ben. I'm going to wake up Xaivier." I smiled apologetically at Ben then dashed up the stairs, taking them two at a time.
I cracked the door open to our room, peeking in to see if he was awake. He was snoring softly, so I pushed the door open all the way. "Rise and Shine, Xaivier."
He rolled over, muttering. The snoring continued.
I shook his arm, jostling his entire body. He swatted my arm away.
I watched him for a few more seconds, and I realized how tired I was. I shivered because of the cold air relentlessly coming out of the air conditioning.
"Move over, Xaivier." I lay down beside him, suddenly craving the warmth that always seemed to radiate off of his skin.
He opened one of his eyes for a moment, then grinned."Hey Katt, there was something I wanted to talk to you about..."
"Go for it." I kept my eyes closed and stretched out across the bed, pulling the blanket over my legs.
He took a deep breath and held it for so long that I shifted on to my side, expecting to see him dead. He was looking at me and apparently deep in thought.
"Um... you wanted to talk to me about something?" I pushed, his pause making me very curious.
"Maybe later." He got out of the bed and pulled a shirt on. I was disappointed, he could've kept that shirt off and it wouldn't have bothered me.
I dozed off for about half an hour, dreaming about shirtless cupcakes (it's better not to talk about those dreams), but woke up feeling worse than I did before. I shivered again, wishing I could turn down the ancient air conditioner.
I rolled out of bed- literally, I rolled out on to the floor- then lay there for a few minutes, tangled in the blanket.
"I heard a thump, are you- oh." Xaivier stood in the doorway, a grin on his face. "I see you are almost awake. Let me help you." He walked over and lifted me over his shoulder, ignoring my shrieks of protest. I slapped his stomach a few times, not hard enough to actually hurt him. Even if I tried to hurt him, if he flexed his abs would keep him well protected.
"What ever, I'll just sleep up here." I relaxed against him, yawning hugely. My face pressed against his chest and I inhaled deeply, hoping my terrible sense of smell could pick up the smell of his cologne.
Xaivier chuckled but didn't say anything, keeping his arm placed around my waist.
He thumped down the stairs, almost crashing into Katelyn. "Xaivier, what are you doing to Katiana?"
