Mackenzie, Hudson and I stood around by my locker before first period. Mackenzie was extremely jittery. It was driving me insane and making me nervous. Hudson leaned against the red lockers and intentively watched the TV which broadcasted the morning announcements.

"Did you place the cupcake on the desk?" Mackenzie questioned apprehensively.

"Yes, Mack. You asked me about fifty times already," I replied.

"Hudson?" Mackenzie asked.

"Yes, sir. I've already tapped into the system like you've planned," Hudson deadpanned. He rummaged through his bag and took out a small piece of paper. He handed it to me. "He gave it to me along with the cupcake. He told me to give it to you."

The note read:
You owe me, right?

It was Nolan. Damn, I should have never said anything.

"Guys, guys. It's starting," Mackenzie blurted out in a hushed tone.

"Good morning BHHS! I'm Brittany Monahan, which all of you already know who I am. And I am your morning announcer. The annual BHHS Talent Show is next Friday. You can purchase your tickets in the main office during your lunch periods. And those who want to participate in the car wash fundraiser can sign up in the main office, as well. Now before we head onto sports, let's talk about Jane Patil. She definitely turned heads last week with her bizarre outfit."

"She did not have to do that," Mackenzie whispered as Brittany continued to talk. Brittany just humiliated Jane on the morning announcements. Her tone was clearly sarcastic. The three of us looked over to see Jane storming out of the hall. "Brittany deserves this."

Then Brittany had stopped mid-sentence and the color drained out of her face. She shot out of her seat and was out of view. The camera person asked where she was going. The next thing we heard was a guy yelling "what the hell?" and someone else yelling "dude it smells like shit up in here." She had ran into the boys' bathroom. Hudson swiftly typed on his laptop and the P.A. system turned on. The recording of my modified voice started blaring.

"So, Brittany is a lot of things. Yes, it is true she may be narcissistic, and rude, and a warlock, the list goes on. But there are positive things about her such as.... ehhh we got nothing. But hey! She did achieve something which we are extremely proud of. She spread rumors about us. It's truly an achievement that she knows how to spread things other than her legs. On another note, Jane Patil slayed her traditional Indian attire. That is all. Carry on."

The three of us shared a small victory celebration through eye contact. We didn't want people to know it was us. Students in the hallway were laughing, clapping and questioning who the announcer was. Even though the rumors about us were just spread recently, they were pushed into the clutter of other rumors that Brittany had spread. Therefore, it could have been anyone on the PA. I was at a state of euphoria. I just had to go through the school day and then see what Nolan wanted from me.

After school, Hudson invited Mackenzie and I over to his house. We were going to celebrate our beautifully executed revenge and resume investigating Megan Finley's belongings. During our taco celebration feast, Hudson abruptly asked, "So when are you going to call him?"

"Why would I call him? I'm with you guys right now."

"We give you permission, if that's what you want," Mackenzie stated. Mackenzie shimmied her eyebrows and nudged me.
