Ciel's POV:
"Ugh... My head..." I groaned as I rubbed the side of my head, which was aching. Damn, King punches really hard...
"Oh, I'm so glad you're awake...!" A familiar girly voice said to me. Once my vision cleared, I was a bit surprised to see Jade sitting by the bed I was laying in.
"You... You waited for me to wake up...?"
"Yea... I feel awful that you got hurt because of me...! I'm sorry Ciel!"
"Don't be, it's not your fault... I wasn't going to let a girl get hit on my watch, anyway..." I said as I slowly sat up, the pain in my head increasing as I did, but then it slowed.
"But, I... Okay..." She sighed. Looking at me, she gently placed an ice pack against my head where I was hit. It wasn't very cold though. That means...
"Were you treating me the entire time I was asleep?" I asked.
"Mhmm... Like I said, it's the least I could do... You had a small bump on your head, but the ice helped it go down, so that's good..."
"Um, yea, thank you... You didn't have to do that..."
"But I wanted to. Besides..." A smile spread across her face and she giggled, "you look really adorable when you sleep! So innocent!"
A prominent blush dusted across my cheeks. "I-I do not!"
"You do too! I had to keep myself from pinching your baby cheeks!"
"B-Baby cheeks?! I do not have baby cheeks...! I have normal cheeks!"
"I'm just teasing, silly!" Jade said, giggling once again.
"Oi..." I rubbed my cheeks to settle my blush. "Anyway, have the others figured anything out yet?"
Shaking her head no, she sighed, "Unfortunately, no. They thoroughly searched the first floor, but nothing. Kennedi was right when she said all of the exits and the second floor were inaccessible... Looks like we really are stuck here..."
"Damn, we're in a tough situation..."
"You're telling me... I'm really worried that someone might actually take that girl seriously and end up killing someone... I don't want anyone to die! I... don't want to die..." Jade said, looking down at her lap.
"Hey, it's going to be okay. Nothing's going to happen to you."
"But... what if someone tries to kill me?"
"They won't. Don't be so negative. You don't seem like the type of person to act this way, so try to be a little more optimistic, okay?"
"I... Well, okay..."
"If anything, just scream for help and I'll always come running."
Jade looked up at me, hope shining in her eyes, "You promise...?"
Nodding my head yes, I gave her a pat on the head. "I promise."
Her expression completely brightened and she smiled, giving me a hug. "Thank you, Ciel!"
I blushed a bit, unsure of how I should react. "You're welcome... Where is everyone else?" I asked.
"In the cafeteria. Should we go see if they've found out anything new?"
"Yes, it's best if we do."
"Okay!" The both of us stood up and headed out of what I found out was my bedroom dorm. I followed Jade all the way to the cafeteria, and there we saw the rest of the other students. Or should I say, our fellow prisoners.
"Oh, Ciel! You're finally awake! Are you okay?" Sofī asked, jumping out of her seat when she saw me.
"Yea, I'm fine... I've felt worse..." I said as I sat down in an empty seat next to Kennedi.
"Isn't there something you wanna say?" Austin said, elbowing King in his side.
"Ugh... Fine... I guess I lost my temper... My bad..." King apologized, I guess, in a mutter.
"It's fine. I'm over it. So, have we still found nothing useful?" I asked the group.
"No, and it sucks...!" Finnian said, putting his head down on the table. "We're really stuck here!"
"We searched everywhere we could, and still, nothing. This place is on a tight, secure lockdown." Kennedi added, her arms crossed over her chest.
"Oh no, we're really going to be stuck here forever!! I don't wanna die here!!" Bloom fretted, messing around nervously with her hair.
"I advise you to calm down. Your whining is getting on my nerves..." Alois said from where he was sitting.
"You can't blame the girl for being scared. We're all worried here..." Kathrine commented with a following sigh.
"For now, we all have no choice but to tough it out and continue to search around for clues to our escape. That's all we can do, really." Shoko said, and the room fell silent. She is right, though. There isn't much we can do at this point...
Everyone, including myself, was startled by the television on the wall that suddenly cut on. On the screen was that little girl in the bear costume. Monoronnie, I recall being her name.
"Upupupupu~ Hey there, chickadees! It's me again, your principal! Just letting you know that curfew is approaching! I advise you all to start heading to your rooms before night hours hit. Oh, and make sure to keep your doors locked. Nighty night!" After that short announcement, the TV cut off.
"Night hours?" Elise asked.
"Night hours. They're from 10 PM to 7 AM," Kennedi answered.
"I have a suggestion." Shoko said, standing up from her seat. Everyone gave her their attention.
"What is it?" Kathrine asked.
"We should make our own rule: to stay inside our rooms during night hours and not come out until those hours are over." She stated.
"Why?" Sofī asked.
"Why? Because aren't we all worried enough? Night hours are undoubtedly the most dangerous hours of the day. A murder could very well occur as we're all sound asleep. If we all stay locked in our rooms for the night, it's more likely that we'll all be safe and live to wake up the next morning."
".... She's right. We should all lock our doors at night and stay put. It's our safest option." I added, standing up from my seat.
"Fine. Whatever. I'm going to get my beauty rest." Alois said, getting up from his seat and heading to his room.
"I-I'm going too...!" Bloom stated, following right behind the blonde like a duckling.
The rest of us said our good nights to one another before heading to our rooms. Today was the first day of a long, chaotic journey.
