I've put this at the end as well but this was 13yr old me writing and it's so terrible but Natalie my mate wanted to read and it's so embarrassing but like funny looking back  so please don't read it's so not worth it.
Above is Felix
"Urrrr" I murmur, my sleep dewed eyes flutter open to the blinding light, I rub them and I slowly move my head to the right to see a woman dress in a nurses uniform unhooking me from the machine. Automatically my lips move, "How long?" I slur, the nurse looks down at me wearing a blank expression  "4 years". I choke upon air and in an instant the nurse is there needle in hand making sure my precious "rare" self is not harmed, I swat her and the needle away glaring and rub at my temples it's now......I pause to think, the year 3040 and I'm 18. I can feel the difference in my body but not in the world.

Twenty eight years ago the world became so polluted that people began to drop dead in their sleep, there just wasn't enough clean air. Small countries died until only England was left, nobody has any idea why England lasted till the end, it just did. So in the end England decided to take charge, they searched for people who were different. They found them starving amongst the dead. They nicknamed us "rare's" people who breathe less oxygen than the average human being, allowing us to breathe 12% oxygen instead of the average 20%. They rounded us up and started testing us. They finally found that we were born with adaptation cells, which were soon to be nicknamed "a-cells", little cells that reduced our breathing by absorbing into our lungs. The cells would give us one easy day of breathing, they would soon stop working, but no fear our body produced more. when this was found the English government started selling us. Our sleep was worth thousands of dollars, but it took its toll on us. They could remove 365 cells and give someone a years worth of sleep.....but it tired us out and we repeatedly fell into a coma for double the amount of days they took from us, sometimes the toll was to much and the rare's a-cells would fail causing a fatal heart attack. Which means some rich jerk stole 4 years of my life for 2 years of sleep.

"Lizibet," the nurses voice cut through my day dream "Your done, is there anyone you would like to see?"
"No ma'am" I pause "..actually is Felix Barkley awake?"
"I'll check the computer" as soon as her feet exit the door I swing my legs off my bed. blinking hard to stop my vision closing in I delicately stand. My legs shake, and dare me to fall over. But right now there's now time for that.

The Institution was what we called the place where they kept us, a massive old white building with eight floors. Each student shared a room with one other of the same sex. You were given a schedule for exercise/physical training, school classes and a choice of one art skill and one physical skill/team. In all fairness it really was luxury, we had two fifty meter swimming pools, one paddle pool, six large spas were dotted around (three outside three inside), a running track, a canteen on the first floor that feed main meals while vending machines the you ned no pay for were placed around the institute, really anything we required except a life where we weren't in comas constantly and friends who wouldn't disappear or die unexpectedly.

The boy who I mentioned to the nurse is my best friend. Felix had been close to death stealing rotten foods out of the bins in Berlin. He had been spotted by the English and taken to the institute. I knew Felix wouldn't be waiting for me at the door, he'll be with the rest of the air-sci's. Who hopefully have been notified that I'm awake.

The air-sci's are a little group, that's all we tell people because We have this theory that if people find out that our "little group" is an illegal rebel group trying to restore our planet.....it'll be frowned upon. You may ask "saving the planet? Isn't that good?" Not for the government. They're heroes now that they saved the little remains of our planet. They've got a bit cosy with their easy going jobs and would hate to see anything change, for better or for worse.
