I was watching Felix. He was lying on one of the institutes beds and the only sign of him being alive was his chest slightly moving up and down. The heart monitor was the only thing interrupting the still silence and the too white room was making my eyes hurt. There were two nurses Tending to him and one was wiping blood off the tools that had been used only moments before to help stitch his stomach back together. Although the room was bright there were no windows nor lights to be seen. Infact it seemed as if the room itself was glowing. Of course in a way the room was glowing, the walls had been painted with neon-nanos; minuscule robots laced int the paint that could shine light. By themselves these bugs were pointless as they were to small to see and their light was rendered useless. But a whole wall of neon-nanos and it would seem as if the room was its own light source. They were also more efficient as, if one them failed the difference would not be noticeable. The Neon-nanos In this room were an old version and the room was filled with a calming hum, that was only disturbed by Felix's heart machine,....which was silent. I choke on air as I realise that the neon-nanos were the only noise I could hear.

"NURSE! I scream "NURSE" I point a shaking hand at the monitor.
The nurse who had been cleaning the tools eyes widen as her brain ticks over, she straightens her back and madly presses a button on the side of Felix's bed. Not a minute later a doctor bustles into the room. The doctors looks more peeved than concerned and rolls up her sleeve to check her watch
"right, I want four nurses holding him down, he should start up again in a moment"
"Wait!" I'm worried and I have no clue what's happening "w-what are you d-d-doing?"
As the nurses rush past to hold Felix's body the woman looks at me "he was lucky that the knife missed any important organs but it looks like the knife was covered in a new poison that's become popular to the outsiders, it's a mixture between aconite and botulinum toxin, outsiders find it particularly useful as its only been found fatal to rare's" she takes a pointed look at me like this is some how my fault, which of course it is. I could have done something instead of being hopeless.
"C-can you cure him?"
"We've tried multiple cures"
The answer is to vague and I press for more information
"have they worked?"
"No" she replies bluntly and pulls out a syringe that's filled with a black liquid "we are trying another antidote, this is liquidised coal, should absorb the poison"
My eyes widen in horror as she flicks the glass syringe and the liquid swirls inside the tube "but that-" my sentence is cut short as a blood curling scream fills the room.
Felix has woken up.
Felix is now thrashing and the nurses are struggling to hold him down, the heart monitor has come back to life and is going almost as crazy as Felix.

The woman turns her attention towards Felix and shouts orders at the nurses as she pulls out a wipe to clean the skin where the needle is going to be. She swipes the skin and lines up the needle, but Felix is thrashing and the nurses are struggling to keep him down,
"HOLD THE ARM STILL DAMMIT" she shouts and the nurse appointed to that particular arm puts their full force into holding down the arm, this creates a row of problems for the rest of the nurses who now have to cover a larger part of Felix's flailing body. The doctor now has an opening to insert the needle and she makes her move jabbing it into the arms main vein. Felix's violent movements slow, until he is lying peacefully, with the heart monitor beeping quietly. Looking at him now I can hardly believe that moment before he was anything other than peaceful. I let out a long breath of relief and expect the clones to do the same. Instead of lookIng relived though, the doctor is running her hand through her hair.

"vitals?!" She shouts and a nurse pulls up his holographical
"crap!" He states "the coal is working way to fast and multiplying, it's over flowing his bloodstream"
"Dammit, but the poison?"
"I think it was absorbed by the coal but ended up sending off a weird reaction towards it, it's made the coal multiply, his bloodstream is filling up with the stuff."
"Interesting"
"THE HELL IT IS!" The clones all turn to me "HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT? HES DYING!"
"I'm well aware of this" the doctor calmly replies
"w-what?!" I stutter "HES DYING AND YOU CANT CARE LESS! YOUR A DOCTOR! FIX HIM"
"This isn't a matter of fixing miss sanders, we don't know what we're dealing with"
"YOU CANT JUST LEAVE HIM! HELP HIM!"
"We have, I'm afraid we can't do anything more. I haven't seen this before, because we used an untested medicine which we only did use because everything else has failed"
The nurse clears his throat "vitals dropping"
The heart monitor confirms this and a dip appears. I sprint to Felix's side making sure to shove the doctor on the way over. Clutching Felix's hand I stare at the nurse
"you're no doctor" I hiss, my words sharp as venom "just a child in a woman's body"
She rolls her eyes at me uneffected and her reply is more poisonous than what Felix has been poisoned by "oh yes coming from the Girl who has only lived half her age while the other in a coma"
I turn my head away from her eyes stinging.
"Please" I whisper "please help him"
"I told you, we have"
She turns on her heel, the sound of her footsteps go faint as she walks out the door, and the heart monitor goes silent once more.
